I'd say his $700,000 debt is about to get seriously seriously worse. Beige really is going to bite back.

And it even has plates on it in case you wish to "dry hump a Smart Fortwo" on the street some time.

I remember seeing one of these for sale about a year and a half ago at a Ferrari dealership somewhere in midtown Manhattan. I think they wanted somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000 for it. I'm also going to make a wild guess here and assume that's not a non-interference engine.

And the crystal ball sees lawyers and bankers smashing these things up all over the world. Fortunately it will be a double positive...fewer LFAs and fewer over inflated bankers and lawyers.

My great grandfather bought a Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 NEW back in the mid 1920's and kept it in running condition until the say he died in 2004. Seeing that Silver Ghost brings back some nice memories.

@Novaload: I got all worked up when I saw the poster for the movie and they show the "Death Proof" Nova as a Camaro.

This engine looks remarkably similar to the straight 6s from the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost. You have your twin ignition and extra air valve carburetor. The only visable major differences are the lack of brass and one solid block instead of 2, 3 cylinder blocks.

@Novaload: Most pointless movie I have ever seen but so so good.

My 1987 Ford Ranger XLT with a V6. Despite it's many attempts to kill me it would not roll over and die. The odometer rolled over back to zero on my dad and when I got it, it had another 80k miles on it.

Just more proof that Toyota is just another huge corporation that is mired down in their own bureaucracy. Stuck pedals? File forms in triplicate and then maybe if we decide that it will kill enough customers to cause a significant loss of profit we may do something about it.

@DerEin: They also use propylene glycol as an antifreeze and an ingredient in some foods (dog chew bones, cheap ice cream). I actually took 2 food science lab classes for my BS degree and we used to talk about it a lot me being a gear head/foodie and the professor being a chemist. It's not zero calorie but it is

@DerEin: I see an all new foodservice trend of zero calorie glycol based sweeteners.

If somebody somehow managed to put together a kit E30 for the weekend racer my life would be complete. There are kit Cobras and kit GT40s why not a more practical and cheaper kit for the middle class racing enthusiast? No carpet, no radio, no heater core, no A/C, minimal trim pieces , plentiful cheap parts now that

@chino52405001: I think that was a documentary about when Corvette began their win streak at Sebring. The rotor went at the end of the long straight and the driver locked up the rear end and spun it to try to save the front end.

@Madcows: It's a flappy paddle gear box. In a few of the shots you can see the levers on the steering wheel.

@twinturbo2: I think they have the same hair cut.

I am going to hazard a guess that they haven't quite finished the brake system on that car yet.

@jedimario: I shed a small tear when their ST class car went into the wall a few laps into the race at Limerock last May.

It's nice to see a modern "performance" car that has a decent brake package without those weak crack prone cross drilled rotors.

And of course they gave Eugene Levy the first test drive/ride.
