Nearly all US gasoline has ethanol...  It’s not a California thing.

Thoughts on the infotainment systems: Let the owner’s phone do the heavy lifting; support both CarPlay and Android Auto. When I hop from car to car I don’t want to have to learn a new system, just show me CarPlay everywhere and I’ll be much happier.  You’re never going to please everyone with a manufacturer provided

A Renault Medallion sedan was the first and last car my dad ever bought new. The stupid thing spent more time in the shop than on the road. They could never get the brakes right and it needed new pads every 1500Km and new rotors about every 5000Km. My parents were so burned by the oread that they, to this day,

If it’s electric you’d probably get an AccessOK sticker in Cali...

I’ve had two really bad ones. Both on 17...

I’ve seen both a silver late model Camry and a fleet white F-150 pulling people over in the Santa Cruz, CA area on a few occasions. Then they also have the low-visibility Charger. They still run CA-exempt plates but you’re not going to see those from 1/4 mile away...

As someone who lives in the mountains surrounded by trees, deadfall and other burny stuff, allow me to second this. A couple years back I watched from my deck as water bombers dropped water on a fire about 5 miles away; I don’t want to repeat that experience.

I didn’t get that far with mine.  They’re covered in all manner of road-grime in a cardboard box....

How about a pair of front brake calipers (with cylinders and slightly suspect pads) from a 1969 Fairlady. I’ve got two!

I’m building a Fairlady that should do the same (with twin SU carbs). Though I have some fear that the exhaust I put together for it will be embarrassingly loud.

I own a BMW 135i and it’s not, by any means, a luxury car; it’s a sports coupe (i.e., optimized along a different axis). The ride is harsh, there’s little in the way of outside noise control and the dash is made of cheap plastic and fake wood, but it’s got a big engine with a turbo hanging off it. It has heated

I do :) The 135i makes all sorts of funny turbo noises on the twisties...

That’s not a regular Ford. That’s a Ford that’s been beaten into shape by Cosworth. It held its own in DTM and BTCC back in the day.

They all have a certain charm to them. It’s hard to beat the bi-plane though.

Mercedes always has to go and make things difficult ;)

Also, I love Bi-plane spoilers...

I’d take the Cosworth. The first car I ever drove was my Dad’s XR4Ti so there’s some sentimentality there.  I’ll fully admit that the other two are probably objectively better cars.

I remember playing this game all the time as a kid. It was a revelation when we got our first color display and I could see the world in more than amber. I always wondered how a car that looked like a 70's Pontiac sedan could keep up with a 911 Turbo or a Testarossa.

I actually thought aimawayfromface3's was better to be honest.

Yeah, that was the conclusion I came to after a few minutes of googling. There was one suggestion to multiply pounds-force by a magic number somewhere between 1.5 and 3 depending on the awesomeness of the engine. Even with the magic number set to 1, you’re still talking over 13,000 hp for the 4 engines.
