The sad thing is, Conan had to frame it in a “the show is more important” angle instead of a “shut up you petty tyrant” way.
The sad thing is, Conan had to frame it in a “the show is more important” angle instead of a “shut up you petty tyrant” way.
But on the upside, I don’t think anybody will be surprised that Conan showed strength and integrity in this situation and stood up for his friend.
Another Walton Goggins role that was never got any Emmy love: Shane Vendrell from The Shield. Especially in that show’s last season.
Plenty off the top of my head. Walton Goggins for Justified. 90% the cast of The Wire, particularly Clarke Peters, Michael K. Williams and Jamie Hector (but honestly, you could pick almost anyone from that show). BoJack Horseman for its final season and earlier Will Arnett for his performance in Free Churro…
Keri Russell is the one that hurts. Particularly for the Americans’ last season, which was just a magnetic performance where you just felt trapped in the paranoia of her character’s life. I haven’t caught up with the Crown yet, but Claire Foy better melt the damn screen to have denied that woman her Emmy.
Also ignored, somehow, for Homicide. As was the whole damn series.
It’s truly egregious that Michael K Williams never won an Emmy for The Wire, but I guess nobody was watching it when it was on, because if anybody had been paying attention at all, he should have also won People’s Sexiest Man of the Year over any of the 2002-2009 winners(Except maybe Clooney).
More like D’Arcy Carden for The Good Place. Janet(s) is maybe my favorite episode of anything ever.
Hot damn, Andre Braugher is so, so, so great in that show (he’s just great in general, but Raymond Holt is one of the best TV characters ever, IMO)
Hugh Laurie for House?
Objectively, it would have to be Carrell right? That show and performance has only grown in esteem since it left the air. In movies this happens a lot that make certain Oscar mistakes (i.e. Forrest Gump over Pulp Fiction) more egregious over time, but this might be the only time it’s happened with TV.
Andre Baugher for Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Was Levar Burton the top pick of the fans? Or just the top pick of a loud minority on Twitter? People forget that Twitter and entertainment blogs like this have very little correlation to what the average person believes.
I liked Buzzy a lot. He was very good with the contestants and read well
Steve Buscemi has repeatedly said he does not want the job; we should honor his wishes.
The tweet was in 2014. I don’t know what the sentence in the stocks in the public square should be, but it feels like nearly eight years is just about enough.
I’d bet it’s just a trial to see if Jennings can pick up support once viewers get comfortable with the idea. The guest host wars must of been a nightmare for producers. In yesteryear, they relied on small focus groups. Now they have millions of tantrums in the twitter-verse shouting looney personal demands.
Just give it to Jennings, jesus, it’s a dumb tweet, still better than Bialik’s victim blaming and hocking junk science (plus being on TBBT, a sin no one can be forgiven of).
Well I’m pissed off about Mayim Bialik. Why was Buzzy Cohen not considered?
She always has issues of “color”
