In this situation, she’s labor. Extremely well paid, but still labor. I’ll side with her the same way I do millionaire athletes vs. their billionaire robber baron owners.

I don’t care how much money someone has, if they’re getting screwed over for money that should be theirs, then I hope they get it.  Other than that, eat the rich.

No doubt about that. Disney is among the worst ulcers that capitalism has ever produced. That’s what makes this situation so weird for me. Like, I’m pretty sure she’s in the right, whatever that means.

Yes, she has millions. But, Disney has BILLIONS!!!! They can easily pay her her fair share, which is very fair since she’s been a big player in the MCU since 2010. I’m sure a lot of people went to see those movies because of her, just like how people go to see athletes play sports and not the billionaire owners who

This is 100% a move for the future/others, and Scarlet may be the figurehead here but it’s almost certainly powered by her agent(s). The agents want their clients to make more money so they make more money.

Theoretically, she may be filing suit so she can use her influence to fight for equal pay for female actors. (I’m just speculating, I may be wrong about whether this is really related to that, or whether that’s a factor in her decision.)

Meanwhile, Russell Brand is making videos saying that vaccine passports will lead to fascistic dystopia.

As someone who was just diagnosed with COVID today, hours before I was supposed to get my second jab (probably the Delta variant based on symptoms), all I can say is get your fucking vaccinations!

If the ultimatum is “insulate yourself against the disease that you’ll be spreading so that you don’t pass it to me”, sure they are.

Good on her.  More people should take this stance, although obviously it’s easier if you have what I’d think is a pretty good nest egg like she should.

People seem incapable of rectifying that a light-hearted comedy is fundamentally incapable of tackling deeply, entrenched, complex, nuanced issues that deal with racism as this is anathema to the “light-hearted” aspect of a comedy.

Well, meet the new boss, the same as the old boss. Season eight, on its face, appears to be more of that classic Brooklyn Nine-Nine energy.

I remember being surprised when I binged the show a year or two back at just how much of the show Pimento took over. I thought he was going to be a short-term jolt of anarchic comic energy, and his plots really dominated an entire season. I like Mantzoukas as much as anyone, but that was a lot of Pimento to deal with.

I have an obsession with Rosa, too. But it’s healthy and pure and totally normal.

Adrian Pimento is a treasure and I’ll hear nothing to the contrary. The gag where they use the classic flashback joke structure to just show straightforward horrors he endured is amazing.

Hey, Levar, the contestants aren’t children. You don’t need to respond to every correct answer as if they had just successfully used the toilet for the first time.

???

Yeah, I also can’t read anyone thirsting after Driver without mentally going there as well, especially when there’s a list involved.

I’ve been to that Stew Leonard’s many times over the years. If you only saw white people in the parking lot, it’s either because you weren’t looking around at all, or because you needed to inject a little drama into your story at the expense of honesty.

I’m guessing it was the latter.
