Back when her kids were little, she had a whole shtick where she wasn’t totally anti-vaccine but had a lot of dubious opinions about “safety.” she was very into attachment parentng and was generally completely insufferable.

And her Neuriva ads are completely irresponsible.

Yes. And she shills for snake oil with “I’m a real neuroscientist!”

Team Buzzy.

I love LeVar and was rooting for him, but he was not the best guest host. He was good with the contestants, but he needed to dial back the enthusiasm just a touch. Maybe he could have picked it up with a longer stint, but he didn’t have the time.

I despise Mayim Bialik and have for years, so I’m going to have to go

It’s fine for him to leave because he didn’t get tenure. But it was a gamble and he lost. It does make a difference hat the position was not tenure track.

But his failure to convert from a non-tenured to a tenured position isn’t proof of prejudice on Harvard’s part. “Universities are full of shit” is a different

Weed is actually very, very popular amongst Orthodox Jews. Surprising, but true.

Honestly, it’s shady as hell not to even mention that West *took a non-tenured post* when he returned to Harvard. The faculty want him tenured, but Harvard admin isn’t changing its mind. (My understanding is that Harvard, even more than many universities, tries to avoid granting tenure.)

He had tenure before. He gave

Nope, he’s pretty famously practicing, though he’s not 100% Orthodox.

I nominate ptcha (Yiddish for calf’s foot jelly). Honestly, there’s a lot of terrible Russian food. At least Ukrainians have discovered garlic.

My family is Polish Jewish on one side and Ukrainian Jewish on the other. My BIL is Chinese. He is horrified by our food. He doesn’t find gefilte fish gross, but doesn’t

Space... battles? And Asimov? Oy no.

Getting all your degrees from the same place is frowned upon in many fields but it’s not the red flag you present it as—especially when it’s somewhere as huge as UCLA.

That said, I’m told by actual neuroscientists that her PhD work isn’t that great and her publication record is pretty much nil. Trumpeting herself as a

I disagree. I couldn’t stand him from the get-go and it wasn’t just because he was a bad person.

Mayim Bialik is permanently on the outs from her previous anti-vax flirtations to her “I’m a neuroscientist!” ads for snake oil.

Also, I find her smarmy and condescending. “in my world we pronounce it Chanukah!”

The problem with this is that while *some* front of house workers make out well, others don’t. So you have one group who would rather keep making tips and another who would prefer a higher base wage. It depends on where you’re working, what kind of crowd you’re getting, how you’re required to tip out, and so on.

I was almost expecting a pledge drive reference and was slightly disappointed we didn’t get one.

Christmastime for the Jews is an annual tradition for me.

Fairway, RIP, was more deserving of this than Stew’s. I always preferred Fairway. They had surprisingly good prices on a lot of items, though.

On Long Island, you’d see a noticeable difference between outlets of the same chain (A&P/Waldbaums, King Kullen) depending on neighborhood. Plus Foodtown and Shoprite are

Or East Meadow. Yeah, it has good schools, but it’s straight up run of the mill suburb filled with Levitt-style houses. And Stew’s is diagonal from the county hospital. It is not particularly bougie.

Whole Foods, now, is in Jericho and Manhasset, which are hoity *and* toity.

That may have been strategic to take advantage of different courts. I don’t know how WA and CA compare, though.

Autism research *should* be about those things, but in practice, a disproportionate amount of the research money goes towards figuring out the cause. Which is never going to have a single answer, so it’s an endless suck of funds.
