Stuck throttle cable or couldn’t actually lock into a gear?

Can’t be worse than how Indy handled Wheldon’s death.

Long haul trucks became the norm when the freeway system started to take shape in the 50s, but they’ve been around longer. They evolve out of neccesity and demand slowly over the years. Safety concerns birthed advanced braking systems and efficiency and payload helped develop the powertrain. Aero is actually a

I recently spoke with a Volvo engineer about an array of topics, but he did say their current products make about 7-8 mpg hwy, real world, full weight. He said that was kind of a big deal because efficiency is hard to find in a big rig. He said the top end for diesel, if given a couple decades, would be about 9.5. He

Daytona isn’t the only superspeedway subject to restrictor plates.

That intersection between racing and other areas of STEM has taught me a lot in life and opened up new interests. Its one of the best things about motorsport.

Ma’am. Come to Jalopnik, she’s a staple over there. I literally look forward to $kay’s posts. Her gif game is unrivaled.

Gives the air something to grab and push down on. Everything is designed to be streamlined in forward motion. This is the exact opposite. It’s to slow down the car while backwards. It counteracts the air that pushes up on the bottom of the car during a spin. Reverse all those aero pieces and shit starts to provide

When “real drivers” ran wide open people died.

All I can say is that this fucking awesome. As someone who always appreciated the art of baserunning (hey, I couldn’t hit worth a damn, I had to learn to run) I find this metric fascinating

True story: An alum of my engineering school now works for Ford. He paid us a visit and the Bronco/Ranger came up. Through a series of questions and subsequent denials, I learned a few things. They’ll share architecture and powerplants. They will come with the Ecoboost 4 and 6 as engine options. They are not based on

Well that’s good, because I got a Honda R&D hat recently at an event but I drive a Nissan right now haha. I’ve owned 5 Hondas and will assuredly own more in the future. I also plan on continuing to apply there until they give in.

If it feels anything like a live alpaca, buy it. They had an Alpaca convention recently in my town (I don’t know why) and I took my kids (I don’t know why). I hugged one (I don’t know why) and it was majestic. So soft. Like a walking, fluffy memory foam pillow

It’s called a “Cubs” hat and they’re readily available.

Fuck that, throw on the Olds hat, I’m getting laid

You know, I would rock the second ones

No, you get an exemption for high end brands or models that most people can’t afford, especially if they have solid racing heritage like Ferrari, Jag, Porsche, etc. You can be a fan of the brand without having the ability to own one. A Ford or Chevy shirt doesn’t get the same pass.

It’s fine to wear the stuff, owner or not. Turning it into a lifestyle is opulent and annoying. In general I agree with David. I’ll never own a Ferrari, so I may as well wear a shirt. I got one in Florence at 11 and wore it til I was 23. I didn’t grow much. Point being, let me dream

I just said the same thing about Moustakas and Moose. This would please me
