Washington: *Runs 4.4 40*
Exactly. I’m not worried, though. I’m certain that Ashley Feinberg will clear this up for us in a follow up post. She really is great here at Deadspin.
Fuck. Well, please send my best wishes through your degrees.
I said this about Megan’s post on Drew yesterday. Receiving the best care available? Doing well under the circumstances? What the shit happened to him? Did he get hit by a bus just to teach Alberto a lesson?
This was my exact reaction to that section.
Yeah I’m getting a little freaked out...both at what might have happened and also at how freaked out I’m actually getting.
We’re all over-reading clues, but I think that whatever he’s up against is not life-threatening even if it is very serious. I say that only because in the original announcement, it was written that he’s “doing well under the circumstances,” and that Deadspin wants “to allow him the time he needs to recover.”
Yeah I get not wanting to say exactly what happened to respect his family, but dedicating a part of the column to him and writing glowing, warm things like that is not a thing you do when someone just broke their arm or some shit. :(
Sung with Elaine’s tentative nervousness... would be a bummer for sure and doesn’t bode well.
Yeah, seriously, what the hell happened to him?
Not knowing, and reading stuff like that, really has me worried more for my guy. Our guy.
GET WELL, GET WELL SOON, WE WANT YOU TO GET WELL!
(everything is sounding like a eulogy, Jebus.)
Seriously, thought the same thing & am now worried there’s going to be an Obit soon...
I imagine this is something that friends say about you after suffering a major stroke. Or something equally debilitating.
Seriously, that’s the most saccharine thing that’s ever been written at Deadspin, and also by far the most frightening. Get well Drew.
Had the same reaction... no good news...
There are many things to love about Drew, but the thing I love the most about him is how effusively he lives his life
I hope the $.03 residual he made when I bought The Hike for $2.99 is able to help defray his healthcare costs.
Percocet. Ever had these? For years I put up the old man “Get off my lawn” routine. But now? I MUST HAVE. Give me all the Percocet. They tell you you’re not allowed to have cheap beer, but brother, you haven’t listened to Skins talk radio all week. 95% of what’s wrong with the NFL could be washed away with these…
