@Elhigh: I don't think it will be much of a problem. The map shows them driving the track counter-clockwise. So they'll have to slow down for the sharp turn at 'B1' and then accelerate to the hairpin. Can't see even a super car going fast enough there to be uncontrollable by the time it get's to the hairpin.

I've looked at this over and over.

First of all, anyone who says they were "driving like a little old lady" is about to tell you a load of BS. Second, isn't insurance compulsory for businesses? Years ago I had an auto security business and I got £1M worth of cover for around £15 per year. So I can't see it being all that expensive to cover cars that

I know a few military guys, both from the UK and the US. They have told me about the training they go through and how the point of it all is to get you to do things instinctively in a crisis instead of panicking. This was a pretty f'ing awesome example of that training.

I was homeless for a few months last year. For various reasons, I chose to leave the life I had and travel across the US and see where life took me. I had some bad luck while traveling and at one point all I had was the clothes I was wearing. At this point I was in San Francisco and one of the things that amazed me

So... can we move on from the electric-hybrid thing that still uses gas and concentrate on hydrogen powered like the Clarity? Any electric car that needs to be plugged in to charge for a few hours isn't going to appeal to the masses who don't have easy access to a charging point. A fill up with hydrogen takes roughly

@Enorym: Oh god that sounds good! The build up and passing is nothing compared to the after sound of that engine eating up the highway.

@interrogator_chaplain: I did too, but for a different reason. At the end I was more interested in what else happened that night than the car story.

Coming from someone who has lived in both the UK and the USA, this is very good information for driving here for the first time. One thing I would add, do not, under any circumstance, think too hard about how much you're paying for gas when filling up in the UK. It will make you cry...

Seriously? People think this looks bad? I think it looks really good. It looks a lot better than some other cars out there.

@Xagest: They used to come with IR built in, up to about 3-4 years ago, if I remember correctly. Mainly for syncing with other devices, but some could be used as TV remotes, etc. But hardly anyone used them, and then syncing went to either USB or wireless, so they stopped making them altogether. For every one person

Welcome to our little adventure! You chose the right site to stop at. I've been reading Jalopnik for a few years and have to say in all honesty, it's the best motoring site, period. It's just gotten better and better over the years. And it has a good mixture of different styles from the writers and readers. No other

It's been fun reading your posts Murilee. I wish you the best of luck in your new adventure!

It's not a case of it failing. It just lost the will to live because it's in a Volvo.

Wait! Wait! Wait!

Oh dude, that sucks. I feel your pain. It's happened to me a few times when I had my iPhone. The app froze and I could see what I wanted to save sitting there on the screen, but I had no way of saving it. So the only option I had was to reset the phone. For some reason that feels worse than just losing it. It's the

Oh god, my brain just had an excellent, bodacious, party on dude, *Air Guitar* moment. :-)

I've got a friend who dissects the science in any sci-fi show and if it's basically BS he can't watch the show. Me? I have a bad memory and may be a little ADD with some bi-polar thrown in for the hell of it, so I can pretty much watch anything and just get lost in the story. :-)

I'm amazed at how many shows I'd forgotten about until reading this. Some of them I just stopped watching before they got canceled because, well, they were crap. Others I loved and hated that they canceled them, like SAAB, 4400 & Invasion. I wish that the decision makers would think of the fans and allow the writers

It's just 20 different versions of heaven. You can never have too much of a good thing! :-)
