I know a lot of ex-military and a lot of them have this type of dark humor. You need it to get through some of the things you face each day. But if they pulled that prank on me I'd be shitting myself! I wonder if the guy got the joke or was just relieved he wasn't going to jail. :-)

@neMouse: Oh dude! I had a similar experience with that episode. A friend used to tape them for me and I sat down to watch that episode at something like 3am. Saw the opening sequence like you did and just sat there going "WTF?!?". I don't think I blinked for the next minute or so in case I missed some vital clue as

This is probably the best article I've read about sci-fi shows. It is well thought out and offers some great advice to the newcomer about where to start and what to ignore.

I envy you taking this trip Joel. I did something similar last year, but I was on the road on my own and with no vehicle. I was basically homeless and making my way across country to CA. Scary as hell to start with, but it was one of the happiest times in my life and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

@$kaycog: You could be right. Maybe the attention she got for her looks distracted her from improving her skill more. If she was a male driver who was average skill she wouldn't get any TV coverage after the race. But being female, the media are all over her.

@jpech: Me too. I would also like to hear about the dealers that helped out, are there any publicly accessible figures for turn over at those dealers? Does BMW/USA have ratings for local dealers?

@$kaycog: When I first heard of her I felt the same way. I also thought she was hot too, so that helped! :-)

@Krymzon40: Right there with you. One of the things that annoys me more than anything is that I'll not be around when we get to the point that space travel becomes as common place as you see in sci-fi movies. Really, really, sucks. :-(

Dear Stupid People,

@P_Smith: Agreed. To me it also seems like part of the "experience" of owning a Ferrari. The fact that they are quickly looking into any possible flaws with their design. (Toyota, take note.)

Some people think this is too long in coming, but I think Ferrari has acted fairly quickly compared to some other car makers. I hope this fix actually fixes it and not just "some" of the cause(s) of the fires.

This is just a taste of what some service guys do when you leave your car with them for servicing. I used to work in a dealership and was glad the customers never knew what happened to their cars when they left them. :-)

@Charliehorse: Too. Many. Jokes. Brain. Overload. :-P

@CaptCaveman: Yeah but remember that this kind of thief is after quick profit. He doesn't have time to take stuff around pawn stores to get a bit extra cash, so he throws it away and keeps what he can use. Probably the only reason he kept the iPad is because it's a known hot item that he can keep for himself or

@Grive: So it seems the further south you go the worse the aggression... Wonder WTF the Australians do !

@Batmanuel: Another thanks for sharing this. Damn good story.

@twophrasebark: I've thought along those line too. When I look back over human history, it seems that we only discover or invent things when the human race is capable of accepting the outcome. It's like there is a universal failsafe built into evolution so that intelligent life only takes the next step when it can
