Of course, but if we’re talking about where the picture originated from, it can as easily be Sweden based on the user name.

It’s also widely used in Sweden, so it may very well be of Swedish origin as well.
I would be super uncomfortable if this was a party at a science convention I went to... and I’m a night club DJ on the weekends, so I’m around these types of environments quite often. There’s a time and place for everything, I would never be ok with this being the setting for an event for my day job as a scientist...

I really would like to try that, it looks so awesome!
Of course, but the closer you get the more immersed you’d become. There are already haptic feedback tech in the works that simulates any surface you would be “touching” in a game. Who’s to say they won’t develop a controller that can change the perception of weight depending on what item you pick up in a game?
Yes that’s what I was thinking about too, that PS Move game where you battled people and you had a 1:1 hand movement type thing. Would be really cool to have that implemented into a full-fledged game. Imagine a first person VR Dark Souls where you have to 1:1 dodge attacks using your actual arms, lol.
Ok, general public may be the wrong wording on my part because basic white girls and grandmas that play Angry Birds are not going to invest in a VR setup. When I say “general public” I’m talking more about the general video game public, essentially the people that own consoles and/or gaming PCs already and play on…
Yeah I’ve watched their development for a long time. Looks really awesome, although I’m not sure it’s something I would want in my house. I would love to play with it though, lol.
Yeah that’s probably what the deal is. And you’re right, not every title is a simple puzzle game, so hopefully that’s an indication of what’s to come.
That’s a pretty big stretch trying to argue with my point... Here you have the potential and the ability to create grand games that uses this tech, for people to become truly immersed in an environment you’ll never be able to experience IRL, and they’re using it to play simple puzzle games? I just don’t get it, and I…
Well, of course, but at that point you didn’t have alternative games with amazing graphics and gameplay elements with Pacman coming out to establish an arcade market. If that was the case I doubt Pacman would’ve been as successful as it was... I’m just saying that if people don’t want VR to be a fad, they need to…
Well, I sort of “needed” a new GPU for a few games I really want to play that’s coming out in the near future so I kind of had to get it now. Besides, the 970 should be fine for most things I want to play.
Close, but still not really. I would like to have a 1:1 (or as close as it can get) experience with controlling the character’s arms. If done right I really think it would be a really cool immersive experience.
Very true. Contemplating getting one once I upgrade my PC a bit (just got a GTX 970, but I think I need to update my i5 3330 processor and 8gb memory too). Also thinking Playstation has a really great opportunity to make something like this with their VR headset.
Oh I know, but my point was more that I wish there was a game at launch that already had that working. The casual player isn’t going to be modding Skyrim to make it work with VR, but the idea of being able to immerse yourself in a game like Skyrim using VR is most likely very appealing to many people.
I didn’t say to recreate Skyrim, I just put that as an example of the type of game I would love to play in VR. Personally I don’t want to play puzzle games with a headset on, I want to be as immersed as possible in another world.
I really want a game like Skyrim, but where you control both arms using motion controllers instead of pressing buttons. I think that would be a really cool way of showing the power of VR. Most of these games look to be gimmicky, simple games unfortunately...
So, people need to understand that Pewdiepie is Swedish. Swedes are fine with doing stupid things in private or amongst good friends (or when they’re drunk), but when it comes to acting a fool in front of completely new people... it’s not easy for us. I think that’s why he wasn’t really in his “character”, plus flying…
