I find his Batman pretty refreshing and superhero-y given the penchant for dark and brooding.

Disagree, BvS at least had a few themes on its mind, and looked pretty good visually until that Doomsday finale.

agreed, though with another arc coming, I guess Arcudi is leaving all that in Roberson's hands. Abe's book sure was terrible though.

Ya know, Cyclops used to be my favorite X-Man, and then I met a dude who acts JUST like him and I suddenly realized why Jean wants to fuck Logan all the time.

If that first Gilbert collection doesn't grab you, I'm not sure anything will honestly. He just gets weirder from there, Jaime's stuff is a bit rawer and more grounded in something approaching reality…ya know, after the Pro-solar mechanics stuff.

I thought Batman and Superman were both solid, but I think Superman’s lead-in to the Super Sons series was maybe a bit over-extended – one issue would have been plenty. I maintain that Batman is doing the most enjoyable Suicide Squad story of Rebirth, and these past few issues have been a big improvement on the

As a counter, I kinda like how wacky this book is, it feels like a curative to the self-serious WAY over-expository Snyder stuff that always hit me as really hot and cold. Tynion's Detective is a bit more bog-standard Batman, and is pretty fun, if you want the regular grade character.

I've really tried with this Red Hood book, but Lobdell just…isn't….terribly good. BUT…to his credit, it's got more energy than either of the Batgirl titles.

Once again I read all of DC's lineup basically…

I think that's always been the big weakness about The New Frontier, that pseudo Lovecraft entity seemed awfully unfitting (other than some pretty cool visuals). I would have rather they fought Starro or something, but I guess that wouldn't have lined up with the specific dates Cooke was going for - one of the book's

Since I guess no one else started it, I'll bite:

I hate to say it, but if you can't get through that one, I don't think there's a pre-Flashpoint WW comic that's gonna work for you. The Simone era is pretty bad imo, and the stuff between her and Rucka is inarguably much worse.

For me the only *great* Wonder Woman runs from that era are:
- The Phil Jimenez one which isn't currently collected but can be had on Comixology
- Rucka's first run (which just saw a new collection hit earlier this year)
- The Azzarello/Chiang run that sparked the New 52 version and plays well into this run
- This current

Just keep in mind, Trump got fewer votes than Mitt Romney. All the DNC needs to do is find new impassioned leadership and recruit candidates that the country can actually rally behind ie ACTUAL leftists and not the spineless cowards that fill the halls of Congress. People are yearning for someone to root for.

I stand by my theory that the entire Azzarello-Chiang run is going to be revealed to be a trick by Ares, which is a pretty clever way for Rucka to wipe that slate clean but still have it count. This run, much like that one, has been pretty glorious. Easily the best non-Doom Patrol comic DC is putting out, though both

Nahhhh, these two issues of this arc have been REAL good. As in, it finally feels like I'm reading Batman again, which hasn't been the case since the New 52 started.

Shade The Changing Girl continues to be terrifically dream-pop like. Young Animal is just knocking it out of the park.

I'll go back and re-read all of Prophet at some point. But I just ordered a copy of The World of Edena, so I'll be pretty wrapped up in that for the time being.

I thought that Vigilante book was an absolute bore tbh, and the Wonder Woman Anniversary special was no great shakes either, topped off by a Rucka text-piece that I still am not sure what the point of it was. Still, it got me interested in the De Liz and Thompson stuff, even if the the latter was basically just an ad,
