I want to love Material so bad, but it's just not grabbing me. On the other hand, Wolf has a lot of promise.

Bombshells is a big seller to the same crowd that's making Harley Quinn a big success, it'll be fine.

I've heard that before, but having Burnham on art may have made the second half of Batman Inc seem better to me than it actually was…I don't quite get the discernible drop on quality that some see. It also doesn't have that horrible Internet 3.0 issue.

I started reading The Complete Eightball by Daniel Clowes…I'm more than halfway through the first book. He can be a little hit and miss on the shorter, odder stories where he's finding his way, but his longer pieces (Like a Velvet Glove, Dan Pussey) are terrific. When it comes to the big three, bald, white guy indie

It's a writing thing…I don't think Gillen does quite a strong enough job giving identifiable traits or motivations to many of his characters. For example, I can't tell you anything about the Morrigan at this point.

There's that too, but I was thinking more along the lines of the themes of Snyder's run began in The Black Mirror, which took place in the Pre-52 continuity during Morrison's run, while Morrison's story capped off during the New 52 within the confines of Snyder's status quo. I found it to be an oddly unique situation.

Might as well wait until Tomasi takes over, it's basically in fill-in mode until that happens.

Which helps significantly…I've read the first three issues, it's not bad, if overwritten. I plan on going six issues with it, but the third was the first time where I thought: I'm not totally sure I like this comic.

Hey, The Wicked + The Divine was really interesting this week. I'm kinda hot and cold on that series (half the time I don't know which character is which), but if that isn't Matt Wilson's coloring masterpiece, I don't know what is.

Yeah, part of it for me is that it's such an about-face from Morrison's Batman and much of the character has changed (even though they weirdly dove-tailed each other).

Zack*…sorry, tiny pet peeve of mine, carry on :-)

I at least think Fawkes is a fairly talented illustrator, though none of his work has ever resonated with me. Tynion and Bennett have none of that going for them.

Avoiding CBR at all costs is an even better rule of thumb.

I think this is the first time a co-writer has come onto the Snyder run where I wasn't instantly turned off. All of his team-ups with Tynion are yawn-inducing, and the annual with Bennett and Villains Month special with Fawkes were even worse. Actually, I think I enjoyed the Duggan issue well enough too, but I liked

I find the idea of ripping the powers out of the hands of a former god makes for a pretty compelling read too.

A good story is a good story in my book, but you'll find that I don't really care too much about superhero status quo and the maintaining of that.

I'm about five issues behind on this book. My s/o, on the other hand, read all of Mind MGMT last weekend and read this new issue two days ago. I gotta read what I'm behind on so we can talk about it.

It and Doctor Fate were the clearest attempts to ape Marvel. "Grab the artist from Hawkeye and the co-writer of Batgirl and I'm sure we'll have a Hawkeye level hit on our hands". Same goes for Doctor Fate and Ms. Marvel.

Yeah, I'm not loving Black Canary either. I should, it hits all the bases that should appeal to me…but Wu's art isn't as sharp as her Hawkeye days and Fletcher's scripting is much better on his other two titles. I may give it one more issue to grab me, but right now…ehh….

My favorite parts of my DC pull hit this week, so I read Grayson, Batgirl, Prez, Superman, and JLA.
