Deficit != debt. While related, they are two entirely separate issues. Even a deficit of zero does almost nothing to solve the debt problem thanks to the magic of compounding interest.

I’ve found it similar to the temptation in a relationship to allow your SO to soothe your insecurities and personal problems - when it ends, all the same problems you had with yourself are all still there.

Pretty much just removing the immediate lazy option. You could jump in your car to get food, but it’s one more step.
