Not sure where to put this, but does Nick Denton follow everyone who comments on a Gawker site? I don't feel like my comments are interesting enough for him to just randomly follow me.

On Mariners trades: while TB seems to only want Walker or Zunino, that's a MASSIVE overpay for 2 expensive years of a guy who is probably not going to sign an extension anywhere. Walker is the top pitching prospect in baseball and has 5 years left under control. He also will likely provide at least half the value at…
Umm, there is a reason people choose not to live places where it gets that cold. Get back to us when you are complaining about 90-100 degree days.
Is it just me or has Durant mastered Reggie Miller's 3 point shot, leg kick and all?
Why not make it just "someone on the field during the scoring play has to kick." Remove the Peyton getting injured concern, plus it will incentivize fake punts and FG's, since you'd get another option for the PAT (have a kicker take it). A TE who could nail a PAT would soar in value.
Someone should explain to Crabtree the concept of counting vs. rate stats. I know he went to Tech and Sherman went to Stanford, but the simple version: Crabtree's solid counting stats are accrued when not covered by Sherman. His rate of accruing those stats is fucking awful when covered by Sherman.
It's genius. If he gets fined, great! He beat Stern at his own game. If not, he saves some money. Either way, he has free reign to be as ridiculous as he wants until Stern retires, since either way, he wins.
I stand corrected. Sorry.
Well, since they are only restricting Californians, I don't think stopping people on the other side of the country is the goal (Washington and California are on the same side of the country, just to clarify).
Beat writers do watch as many games as anyone. But so do a lot of the analysts and bloggers who haven't been given a shot to be in the BBWAA until recently. Rob Neyer should have a vote. Dave Cameron should be closer than he is. Both of those guys watch as much baseball, and more importantly, think more critically…
I love this. They are doing EXACTLY what Deadspin and LeBetard wanted, and sounding like morons along the way. He's my least favorite PTI fill in, but wow do I have a lot more love for the guy now.
It would be similar, not exactly alike. Although the gap between Edgar and #2 is probably larger than Cy and whoever is behind him.
He was a good 3B too! He got hurt, then the Mariners got a guy who play 3rd well but not hit well enough as a DH, and it just kept working!
Also worth noting: Edgar went from the Kingdome (hitter's paradise) to Safeco (so pitcher friendly it arguably drove Griffey out despite it being known as a RH, not LH, killing park) and just kept on raking.
Bonds and McGwire absolutely should be in based on numbers. Same with Thomas and Bagwell. Edgar should get in before Walker though. Check their park adjusted stats.
There is a proven drop in performance when a player moves from playing the field to DH'ing, similar to the PH penalty.
His numbers are better than a shitload of HOF 3B's.
Guns can perforate other things, beside human beings. They are often even designed to do that.
Hippos.
Well, Miami won this week, so this is irrelevant.
