Having Lily Sullivan in this episode playing BJ’s sister KJ is truly a treat, since both actors are married in real life (CBB-heads of course know this).

It was so joyless and dour, I can’t imagine anybody wanting more of it.

When I saw the trailer for Station Eleven (I started reading the book several years ago, but found it too depressing at the time), my embittered first reaction was “who thought a post-apocalyptic TV series about a deadly flu pandemic was what the world needs right now?” But now I get it. The way it hit me was like,

“He never abused his power or forced me to do anything”

Oh will you just stop pretending that Rowling is some innocent writer just caught out of her depth and not someone doubling down time and time again on her transphobia even though she’s had years to actually check the veracity of the most basic bullshit she spouts.

This was handled better & more sensitively it seems like in Gayle Rankin as Sheila the She-Wolf’s storyline on GLOW

Here, humor makes its way into the proceedings via a comic-relief character played, with some zeal, by Dan Lippert. With his aww-shucks grin, “That’s what she said” quips, and genuine appreciation for tear-away pants, he’s a beacon of good humor in an otherwise run-of-the-mill horror movie.

You’re trying to make a distinction that isn’t there. They convicted her for manslaughter based on drug use BECAUSE she miscarried. According to NAPW’s press release, they didn’t even conclusively prove that the drug use caused the miscarriage. If you don’t consider that to be at all worrisome, I don’t know what else

I liked Nadja’s new top too!! When you get a new job, you want to spruce up the wardrobe.

as someone in recovery and having seen the successes and failures of so many people in my recovery meetings, people aren’t textbooks and most of the ideas around addiction are quickly losing merit. especially as we learn how dangerous the purist/disease model and all the “red flag projections” baggage it carries with

Sadly, this is 100% textbook behavior of what recovery therapists refer to as “flight to health”. The grandiloquent epiphanies, entering a serious romantic/sexual relationship, the recovering addict impregnates their the partner, and the addict elevating the partner to savior status are all enormous, post-active addict

I have an awkward relationship with Nextwave. It’s one of the greatest comics ever written but Warren Ellis also leveraged his status to coerce women into sleeping with him under the guise of mentorship.

I would’ve never have guessed Tarantino had mommy issues...said no one, ever.

For the sole reason that higher ups have demanded it, because they don’t want a TV Constantine somehow causing confusion with the new movie-version that will probably never even end up getting made.

Oh hey, it’s Josh from Trial & Error! Gone too soon.

It’s particularly ghastly to say France doesn’t need intimacy coordinators after the actors in Blue is the Warmest Colour have shared their awful experiences filming it.

The lesbianism was the least interesting part of this nun’s wild story, but it’s not surprising, given the director, that this was the focus of the film. I don’t have a problem with that, but I do think all directors shooting sex scenes should use an intimacy coordinator.

loki pressing a big fat reset button sure doesn’t help either. can you imagine TVA monitoring black widow and hawkeye fighting over who will suicide themselves for some paperweight?

Well, at least Paul is out of the house so his kids aren’t subjected to his hair-trigger fits of rage and the completely inappropriate things he screams at them.

I still don’t get why Lodge 49 was cancelled.
