Will that make us a better nation or a worse nation? Stronger or weaker? What would the military be defending if grandma’s dialysis gets turned off? Who’s going to volunteer to defend a nation like that?
That’s like saying “the only solution is to stop breathing”. You can’t cut essentials. We can’t pull grandma off of dialysis or have grandpa living on the streets or let children die in the street (as Ted Cruz was ultimately advocating for in an exchange with Trump recently).
But if we cut the NASA budget and stay home, the aliens won’t see us (which is more in line with Stephen Hawking’s idea that we need to shut up and stop letting aliens know we’re here).

You couldn’t be “set up” unless someone knew this group of soldiers would be using this app to go from a particular point A to point B and need directions to do it. Highly unlikely.
