Maybe because being politely outraged didn’t fucking do anything and the world is being literally ruined for every creature but, possibly, ourselves? We’re going to literally drown millions, if not billions of people or at least their former habitats, because we were politely objecting to bad policies in the 20th

NFTs are an obvious scam and I would never buy or sell one. I’ve been in meetings where I’ve articulated this to higher ups who want to pursue them. They’re a bad idea and no one likes them.

I also think it’s weird how ANGRY people get about them.

It’s like we’ve reached this pop cultural point in the last few years

Kotaku’s Top Chop Champion

i was thinking “Chopper-in-Chief” . . . it’s pretty concise

The winner of the Chop Championship Tournament needs to have the title of Chop Championship Chop Chief.

like this comment if you want to see a Kotaku Dot Com Chop Championship Tournament streamed live on YouTube next week

I think your headline is a perfect example/explanation as to why version numbers don’t mean a damned thing.

The reason that saves cannot be backed up is for security reasons. This is also why saves are on the console and not cartridges: so hacked saves cannot enter the system.

At least they are constantly trying to make elements better. Way more than what you saw them do for the Wii U

Exactly. I remember that for a long time Chrome was like 40 version numbers ahead of Firefox because they simply used different systems, but since then Firefox has adopted a similar system to Chrome to avoid seeming like they were lagging behind.

Different companies label updates differently. Chrome labels every update as an integer. We’re up to like Chrome 65 or something like that in the stable channel. Even higher on Beta, Dev, and Canary. Firefox switched to this numbering as well for some reason. Nintendo seems to consider quarterly (or thereabouts)

as long as they keep the OS fast a reactive I don’t care. after so many updates my PS4 is so slugglish in the menus now. I feels like the same thing as the iphone becoming slower and slower after each iOS update to make you upgrade your device.

It changed a significant amount under the hood.

I never even thought about backing up console saves until two weeks ago :/ My PS4 has something wrong with it and I think I lost everything since it’s probably the hard drive (shut down when I clicked on storage in the settings menu, and now only goes into safe mode — re-initializing is probably my only option).

Version numbering systems change per company and per developer. One company’s opinion of what a “major version” is may differ completely from another. To draw a comparison between the two version numbers makes no sense.

Still no cloud save support or ability to back-up saves on a computer, something the 3DS and Wii U could do.

Thank god OoT is not in the top five on a Zelda list. Just for this, I will slightly adjust your book on my shelf, Jason.

I believe the director is on record for saying he wants to recapture the experience of SO3. If SO3 is not your cup of tea, then maybe it is best to save your money.
