Ive owned one archos product and ill never buy from them again. Id love to rate my interaction with customer service if they ever got back to me. All they did was promise updates and features left and right to only just put out a newer version of hardware and forget about what came before it.

Yes its a legitimate marketplace but its not one where you can get your money back if the product is stolen. When you buy from craigslist you are taking a chance. Especially with phones.

Cell phone companies tag MEID numbers on the cell phones as stolen so they arent activated by the people who stole them. You may not get it back but at the least they could do is not let it sync due to the id being flagged. May cut down on stolen ones i this was the case.

Really, each idevice has a serial number attached to it that syncs when its plugged into itunes. Can help to track down even stolen ipods since you need an apple account to have itunes loaded. Apple wont even flag a serial number as stolen.

It would be great if apple tracked down every stolen iphone/ipad like that instead of telling you there is nothing they could do.
