I wasn't going to watch this show, but then I caught the pilot and I liked it enough to watch. :-)

Mindy has an old Things to Do in New York City guidebook. We know it's old because one of the things is to visit the World Trade Center.

I wonder what Gibson's Harrowing of Hell would look like.

Shades of Hamlet 2?

That Swiper. Yikes!

Now that you mention it, the prince's "mark me"s are starting to get on my nerves. He's a prince. Does he really think people aren't marking him when he speaks? I guess "mark me" is his version of "ahem."

Ish.

The Carmen Sandiego game shows and cartoon, derived from the computer games, were fine, but I still want a live-action movie franchise.

I agree about both Awake and Blood Meridian.

For whatever reason, I laughed out loud when Dr. Seward said that to Vanessa. :)

Whenever I think of a baseball diamond as a key battleground in a cartoon, I think of the "Night Game" episode of The Real Ghostbusters. Not that that's either here or there.

"The Shining Power of a Star: Chibi-Chibi's Transformation"

That spell seemed like a lot of work just to summon a bunch of snakes that couldn't even kill everyone.

This episode had plenty of obvious exposition, as noted, but it didn't bother me as much as it could have because it was at least interesting exposition.

I was very surprised we were spared the eyeball injection. :-)

No "white privilege." But "The White Man's Burden" is only a few years away. Maybe someone once overheard Rudyard Kipling say something about it.

I liked how Axl took his own advice. The annoying boy thought he was being cool, but he was just missing out on fun things. Axl was about to do the same when his family was leaving to bring Sue to Dollywood, but when Sue told him that the trip would be fun, he decided to get in the car.

The Land of Untold Stories has me cautiously optimistic. It's the opposite of OUAT doing a Frozen arc just because Frozen is popular. The show can actually play around with some different characters, I hope.

I definitely saw Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. I hope that means other folk tales like Pecos Bill are also up for grabs. Did Disney do the movie Tall Tale?

They've made a similar joke before, though.
