Publications are allowed to choose their own style guide y'know. Groups are not given dictatorial control over language. If they want to change it, they'll change it without being bullied.

Actually, very few aspects of gender are built in. There's the physical differences obviously and the chemical ones, but the vast majority can be ascribed to cultural norms.
