This is amazing. A repair in the true spirit of this article. Tip of the hat to you, sir.

Yes! It looked a lot like that (green too) but said Lamborghini down the nose. It was so cool.

You should quite literally buy this 1986 20v-6spd-swapped MR2 that is on Bring a Trailer right now. Auction end really soon, but its cheap, it looks awesome, sounds awesome, has a limited slip, and should be both fast and dead reliable. Its also unique as hell. You’ll likely have more than $12k left to buy a 2008

Yup. Agree on this one. Its great, comes from 100% Italian-grown olives, and its cheap as hell compared to other options.

Oh! I got to drive a Lambo tractor! It was small and green and articulated in the middle, making backing up with a trailer super difficult. 2cyl diesel if I remember. I think that was the high point of my automotive life.

If you watch the video they are using a 87-92 motor that has factory forged pistons and a roller cam. Your point stands though. 9.1:1 (ish) compression should be just fine for 14psi provided they dont run too much timing or run it lean.

I live in Utah and everyone has a new Tacoma. Its insane. People are paying close to $40k for a Tacoma limited 4wd crew cab. Do you have any idea what kind of car you can buy for $40k? Thats 996 Turbo X51 money. Sure you can’t haul plywood in the Porsche, but no one here does that in their Tacomas either.

There was one of these parked behind the Donut Hole in Destin, Florida two years ago while I was down there. Same color. The car was in a sad state. It still bothers me that I didn’t try to buy it, but I have 4 cars and a 1-car garage so it just wasn’t meant to be. If anyone is down that way, keep an eye out!

I knew this would be here. Thank you, you did not disappoint.

Whoa there buddy,

Now playing

Keep those videos coming, boys. Some extremely good selections here. Big fan of the Ferrari 333SP:

You aren’t necessarily wrong. My Audi has an “electronic diff lock” that is basically just the ABS system messing with the rear brakes to aid traction. It is in no way a diff lock, but that’s what it is called regardless.

If anyone is at all interested in the forged carbon bits on these Lamborghinis, I highly recommend taking a tour of the Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory in Seattle.

I would have to nominate my first car, an engine-swapped 1989 Nissan 240sx hatchback. Why? When you really rolled into it hard in 3rd or 4th gear and let it rip, that feeling of being hopelessly pinned into the aftermarket bucket seats was intoxicating. Satisfying as all hell, if I may say so. Ill forgive it just

Can confirm that it is maddening. My first car had the speed chime (because jdm-tyte and Initial D) and it was super cool for like 3 days. After that I just wanted to rip it out and smash it with a hammer. So I did.

Just watch a few episodes of Roadkill and you’ll have a Ph.D. in dealing with an overheating car.

I always thought your driveway was the unofficial Jeep museum.

Oh it stranded us a lot too, usually in the middle of busy intersections at rush hour, but this was the only entertaining one.

Alright so while I wasn’t driving, and it wasn’t my car, I was there for this whole debacle. This involved my dad and my family’s 1986 Toyota Van Wagon, sometime in the mid-90s.
