Except it's true, and I said it from being a few hours into New Vegas: Fallout 3 IS better in almost every way (aside from the pip-boy upgrades, which are nice). The storyline is better, the wasteland is more alive, the atmosphere is better, the music is better... in New Vegas you're wandering around a freaking empty

... and Rises isn't as good as The Dark Knight. Circles and roundabouts. Peaks and troughs. The first season of Buffy was a bit naff, then it got good around end of season 2-4, then it went a bit naff again, then got good in the last season. Point is, just because something is a sequel or a remake is no guarantee it's

I saw a thing on youtube where they compared the Arnie version to the Farrell version shot by shot. Almost identical. Aside from the I Robot robots.

exactly. If you're new to XBMC, and want a cheap machine to try it out on, and are ripping from scratch, then the PI is a good option. If not, you're better off waiting for Pi-alternatives, which are coming soon, featuring more ram, faster processor, Android etc

not at all. I've ripped all my DVDs, 200+ of them, straight into MKV containers, losslessly. MP2 is a bit crap, like you say, so why recompress it with h.264? So save a bit of space? Nah. The average DVD is only around 4 gig anyway, very rarely they get up to 6gig, so you can store hundreds of them no problem.

problem in the UK is the aging copper network that the telcos still have to contend with. Certain providers like Virgin can give you fibre to the door, but mainstream telcos like BT only do fibre to the cabinet, which then degrades over the distance from cabinet to house.

strange, given that not many Droids can actually run Chrome. Anyway, the best browser on my ancient Desire is Dolphin, super-fast (and I've tried all of them)

Chrome IS "Google's browser UI wrapped around the Webkit rendering engine" on your PC too. And your Linux box. And your Android phone. It's the "Google's browser UI" bit that is the important bit, that's why we love it.

to save space though, you're better off converting those .wav files to FLAC or Apple Lossless or such. You can always convert them back to .wav if you ever need to (and you can also play the FLAC in your media player if you ever need to - I mostly play my FLACs direct, unless I want to put an album on my iPod, then

yeah, Rasp runs XBMC and outputs 1080p over hdmi just fine :) 30 bucks, what have you got to lose?

yeah, I liked the Resident Evil movies, but the over-use of slow-mo and gratuitous 3D scenes in the last one completely ruined it for me. Film in 2D, make it look good in 3d, not the other way around (film in 3d, looks stupid in 2d. Knives flying at the screen? gah)

heheh... does Fantasia make sense? or 2001? or Baraka? Some times you just watch a movie to have your eyes massaged with the visuals, it's good to switch off your logic center occasionally.

small wire cage used for nick-nacks or letters > Raspberry Pi > back of the TV = win

aka Raspberry Pi ;)

don't go hatin' on Sucker Punch. It's actually quite good (the drunker you get the more sense it makes, strangely enough)

would be better if there was a Google logon.. this is ANDROID afterall ;)

?? I'm running this launcher on my MIUI-XJ Gingerbread... works better than the MIUI launcher

I ran ICS on my HTC Desire, it works but is a bit slow and kranky. However, how I'm running MIUI Gingerbread with a ICS skin and this launcher and it's just as good! Better, because it's faster and more optimised. (Of course you lose the ICS specific stuff like Chrome etc, but thats no biggie... yet. By the time that

or indeed Pocket, which is free

I shall investigate! Cheers :)
