good stuff. except part of the reason I came to Android was to get away from iTunes.

Pen + paper + creditcard + rush_to_shops + cross_off_list = usual method ;)

Google Voice is suddenly everywhere.. as long as by "everywhere" you mean mainland USA? Cos it certainly isn't over here in the UK.

@capitalH: Symbian has 41% market-share? Great, but which 41%? The tech-heads/lifehackers? Or the people who just want a basic cellphone and aren't bothered about apps?

@EmmaFrost: the majority of hardcore Nokia/Symbian people I knew from 3 years ago are all now Android/iPhone users. The only Symbian people who aren't are the ones still waiting for their contract to expire so they can upgrade.

@bayern: no, it's purely because that's what the readers have voted for. Just that most of the Lifehacker readers use a iDroidberry.

why not just rig a rope, via a pulley, from outside to inside. People pull the one end, the other end (with the bell on) jingles.

good stuff. just need some kind of clamp to fix my Desire onto a tripod - no way I could hold my droid still for that kind of shot. Anyone know if such a clamp exists?

I spend an almost obscene amount of money so I never have to go off the grid. Then only time when I'm voluntarily offline is if my signal goes down/broadband line is being fixed. And then I get cold turkey.

@Product F(RED): If you try to install a *cough cough* market app, it will phone home and disable itself. As far as I understand it...

@Terry: because your friends aren't always around to ask, inconveniently.

@GirafficPark: the problem is, aside from "I'm the mayor of..." tweets, you get practically nothing for all the time you spend checking in. Like, 100 checkins and you get a free coffee? I want a free TV or something! lol

@Obsiburr: I think Skype does Facebook contacts now? Or did I dream that (possibly lol)

@Obsiburr: I have a HTC Desire, and it is all integrated. Phone contacts, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Googletalk, they all go into one addressbook. Google calendar, phone calendar, Facebook calendar all goes into one calendar. It it totally integrated.

"Check-ins" coming soon. 4square killer?

meh... my gmail, my twitter, my facebook, my yahoo mail, my Windows Live Messenger, my Skype - it all comes in to one inbox I like to call "My Smartphone"

yeah yeah, Google are iffy on privacy too. But at least with Google it's a machine reading your email, unlike Facebook where it is more likely to be some spotty intern (apologies if you are a spotty intern at Facebook)

@Amador: you have to un-check "auto mount" in Winampdroid settings. Also, ringtones need to be stored in a "notifications" folder on the SD card, whereas Winamp (in present beta) just sticks your music files in the root, which leads to a messy SD and droid confusion (this has been fixed in the forthcoming beta version

-edit: nevermind, link STILL didn't work. gah
