this isn't that innovative though, Nokia had something similar in beta. Also Cityware, although that would track the people you were near rather than location. Still, the Google version works well. And it's not compulsory - if you don't like it, don't use it.

@Mr_Human: agreed about the passwords. I understand the convenience thing of it, but I only use Digsby on one machine so it's a bit pointless, and I'd rather have the control/security of local credentials.

congrats to the Digsby team.

yeah, for £700 Photoshop had BETTER win. Come on...

@Trent Russell: why is that a fail? It works on every other iPod that's ever been released, which is quite an achievement in itself. For a piece of freeware you can't really complain - touch/iPhone will come shortly I'm sure.

@trstn: no, you can switch the video panel off so it's like an olde-fashion messenger client (and just pop video out if you make a video call)

@Bennett Sherman: I've got past that, it sends you another email with the serial. Dunno where to put it though, I assume you have to buy the magazine to get the software?

VOTE: Ultramon

It always was... when it was announced I went straight to the store, and I could upgrade in bulk, or individually for 20p a track. (iTunes UK though, dunno about US)

@ethanthekiwi: it will probably come down the Windows 7 Update pipe in a day or two. Probably need to include other things not in the XP/Vista package

I just stay logged in all the time, thereby removing any reason to enter a password :p

I prefer TC's entire drive method.

@michael9127: agreed. But not every kid out there is as clued-up as you. Look at the 15-16 year olds who vanish after meeting someone "on the internet". If you're 13, then you're entering a rollercoaster time when your brain shrinks and your hormones take over all reason. As parents, it's not our job to tell you what

Truecrypt comes first, because if that isn't on a portable/thumb then nothing else is going on there either. Call me paranoid...

@paxis: granted, most professional photographers have their own sites, but there are a lot who ARE on Flickr, as well as the semi-pros and part-timers. It's not all Joe and his compact or Jane and her cameraphone.

one of those "why the hell hasn't that been around since 95?" kind of moments.

written in Autohotkey, yet not having hotkeys to start/stop it seems a bit....

the problem with the Wii is that it uses (correct me if I'm wrong) Flash 7, so no Flash 10 h264 fullscreen goodness.

came down the Windows Update pipe yesterday in a "beta update" that also included updates for Windows Media Center. No need to download and install externally, just run Windows Update.

that feedback link doesn't bother me, and I need it occasionally. Is there a quick reg-fix for the desktop watermark though? That thing is spoiling my wallpaper ;)
