I’m sure travel is a huge part of it, but every league hates to admit how much television drives these decisions. In the early rounds, those West Coast games make filling the grid easier.

Sounds like a lot of this happened pre-Trump.

If someone wrote a book about NASCAR management over the past decade, it would go like this:

I’m trying to think of any other form of motorsport that requires such a lengthy primer to understand how a race operates and how the series champion is determined. Maybe IMSA and WEC purely because of the multi-class format, but that seems easy in comparison to this.

Completely agree. If I were an owner, a simple review of the multi-year mega-million contracts signed over the last 10 years or so would tell me that they turn out to be a bad investment more often than not. This offseason can be seen as a long overdue market correction.

I’m having a hard time understanding what’s *so* bad about teams not paying free agents. They want more money than teams are willing to spend. These guys are making millions. Sure they could be making more but they’re already making millions, if they’re not getting what they want, then drop the signing cost. It sounds

The other night my girlfriend asked me why winners were getting stuffed tigers instead of medals. I had no idea. But I somehow convinced her that the tigers replaced medals this year because of a dispute over money between the IOC and whoever makes the medals. Now I wonder how long it’ll be until we actually do see

“The IOC said that the standalone medal ceremonies were introduced during the Calgary 1988 Olympics, “in order to give the public an opportunity to view medal presentation ceremonies IOC an opportunity to sell more tickets and make more scratch.”

Yeah I was waiting for the sentence about them being from South Florida or something and it just never came.

The whole premise of this article seems...off. Are we supposed to feel bad for the Knierims? Proud of them for skating in a circle well after watching the news? I expected them to be from Parkland, or something. I’m sure a lot of NBA and NHL players had a similar experience this evening.

Not only did he duck that handshake, he made it look smooth as hell. He owned his opponent twice in a matter of seconds.

This is just further evidence why the USMNT needs to keep selecting Chris Wondolowski to play in important games. He doesn’t write nasty articles about the coach when he loses.

Check out Dan Orlovsky’s diagnosis of that first wheel/rail route you highlight above. His insight is fantastic

+1 Doctor Klaw.

I’ll just throw this out there: Jim Tomsula is tan, rested, ready, and needs to know by tomorrow so he can give his two weeks’ at the 7-11.

“Damn it, Philly we better than this.”
