Jay Leno has said that he lives entirely on his income from doing stand-up and has saved all of his Tonight Show money. Which has got to make for a pretty big nest-egg...

Sad to read how complicit the city's (multiple) major newspapers were so complicit in this scheme. Fortunately, that's unlikely to happen again, between the ubiquity of the Internet and social media and the fall of the newspapers.

Obviously the Candlestick maker threatened them with health code violations, too.

I'm an atheist, but I celebrate the holiday season for various reasons. It's certainly the spirit of the season in America, so it would be tough to avoid it. Plus, I'm Russian and my family puts a much bigger emphasis on New Year's (which I'm pretty sure happened in Russia because of Communist suppression of

Of course it's not "really that hard", but this is slightly more convenient. Which can be said for a lot of apps/utilities. Actually, isn't a lot of what Lifehacker covers just a way making things (at least) slightly more convenient?

This reinforces my belief that a good amount of "bent" goals are purely accidental.

I... What? Panda Express has drive-thrus at the very least. Pick Up Stix, might, too. Some Subways do, too, and their sandwiches aren't very easy to eat while driving. Really, anything that doesn't resemble a burger, Burrito, or fries is not very easy to eat while driving, but I can think of plenty of fast food menu

Wow. This needs to change. Instant replay gives us a pretty good method of determining how long the guy is in possession of the ball. That means that there's no reason to have a rule that basically invalidates something that a player could theoretically accomplish just because it seems impossible. Since this wasn't a

Are you trying to say that we have no way of actually determining if there should have been 0.3 seconds left in the game? Or more, or less? Because that's a really good point. However, if it's gotten to that point then it seems slightly unfair to make a rule that basically tries to dictate what is or is not humanly

Though it seems like this would've been OK in the NBA and FIBA, as they say that at least 0.3 must remain, unlike the NCAA, where 0.3 or less is not enough. That makes me wonder if the disparity comes from what seems like the NCAA's seeming determination to make everything at least very slightly different from

Well, Chrome is the default on newer Android devices. I'm sure they would've used IE if it was available on Android. I did notice the Bing thing, though. Cute, Skype. Cute.

Some serious linkbaiting going on here...

I agree with you, but also... $7 million is a lot of money.

As far as other apps that do this, at least on Android, Radio.com has had this feature for a while. iHeartRadio, too. Obviously, Pandora is more personalized, but I actually prefer waking up to the news rather than music, so that's at least another option.

Technically, his comment actually begins with that phrase. So it's self-fulfilling. Or meta. Or something like that...

I'm just not OK with people dying because of their participation in sports. Fighting is banned in hockey basically everywhere other than the NFL, and they seem to do OK.

Absolutely tragic. I've definitely read about that one and the subsequent change to 12 rounds because, IIRC, research showed that most serious trauma and deaths happened in fights lasting longer than 12 rounds.

Well, fuck. That sure seems like a lot, at least to very lay observer of boxing
