With any luck, more publishers will start offering optional downloadable voice packs for games. Good quality audio files are BIG, and that’s often why multiple language tracks are omitted. But it would be fantastic if they were offered as standalone downloads, so players like yourself could choose to use them as they

You’re completely correct, and a good analyst will consider all aspects and determine how they relate to units moved, average player demographic, etc. My concern is that the Big N already tends to lean towards family-friendly, low-risk ventures these days. I hope whoever makes the call on these things isn’t going to

I totally get both sides of the argument on the censorship/alteration of XCX. I’m not about to say anyone is ‘wrong’ for feeling how they do; however, I do hope that the controversy over this game doesn’t seriously reflect in sales numbers and cause Nintendo to not localize niche games like it in the future. It's

As I get older and life kicks in, I find fewer things to get genuinely excited over. When something comes along that truly is exciting, I try to savor it, and sometimes that involves keeping the element of surprise. Can’t judge anyone else for doing the same thing, even if I don’t feel as strongly about it.

This single screenshot contains more hype-generating potential than all of the released Mighty No. 9 gameplay put together. Very well done.

8 years ago I bought my first guitar, a $99 Ibanez that came with a bag and a crappy amp. Several years and several guitars later, that cheap Ibanez is still one of my favorites to play. If your local music store has a tech that will “set up” the guitar for you (it's usually not that expensive), they can probably coax

Not exactly the same, but here’s a blog dedicated to questionable Yu Yu Hakusho fashion choices.

So much potential for a Destiny series that delves deeply into the lore.

Praxic Fire + The Old Guard shader = Stylin’ and profilin’!

Not so long ago, a post like this wouldn’t mean much, since 95% of endgame Guardians looked identical, except for maybe shaders. The fact that you CAN show off your character’s looks is a testament to the progress being made on gear and progression in this game.

for bringing* some great content- iPhone autocorrect. Bleh.

Kevin- your posts today have all been interesting, informative, and well-written. Thanks for being an awesome guest editor, and bring some great content to Kotaku this weekend.

The original was more of an action RPG, while the sequel felt like it wanted to be a hack-and-slash or something. I dunno. I totally agree with you, though, and I'd mark out like crazy if thy ever HD-ified the original. It still holds up today.

I saw these guys at Madison Square Garden last year- amazing experience. So over the top. It seemed to be a largely Asian crowd, but there were people of all ages, and many in tears by the end of it. It was awesome to witness the impact X have made on multiple generations.

I think Xavier Woods used to yell “OVER 9000!” for his finisher- I’m not sure if they showed it on TV or not, that was before I really followed NXT. So this would be the second DBZ related gimmick that’s popped up.

No worries. And yeah, I agree- it does seem that Square runs into issues with preserving creative vision vs. making money.

I was really just making a little lighthearted joke. I know it’s not definitive proof of his theory running Square Enix or anything. However, although many games share the Final Fantasy name, most numbered sequels are treated like new IPs. It’s technically a franchise- but with new setting, characters, story,

Is that why FFXIII exploded with popularity after Lightning Returns, and all it took was a third entry for the gaming community at large to accept it as the greatest Final Fantasy of all time? Um........... I think the evidence is inconclusive.
