So Toyota, a competitor, doesn't want to sell to GM? This is hardly nationalism and hardly journalism.

Assuming fit wasn't really an issue? Toyota 2000GT, a Ferrari 250GTO, so many great classic choices...

I think it more shows how great some of those cars really were and how bloated they have become. I had an E30 for a while and I loved that car. I drove a current 3-series and was surprised by how much they have watered down the feel and overcomplicated everything. I feel like Porsche is the only car company that still

So who will pay for the constant damage to the car that will undoubtedly happen? What about the fact that stepping out of the car is pretty much a death sentance?

Yeah, but do you really want an interior that is worse than a Civic? Not that I think the Aston is a good deal since the 911 is cheaper and has more space and is more reliable. But then again, the Aston is far prettier than just about anything current on the road except for maybe the Maserati QP...

The real problem will be how they will end up compromising their cars for the American market by making them larger and less dynamic.

Well, the Miata's poor styling isn't really helping issues. It is the blandest little jelly bean out there, and if they just made it slightly more interesting it might be a bit more competitive in the market.

Won't the IS be a bit front-heavy with a V-8? Will they omit all the electronic nannying?

I have to agree with ThnderbitDoherty. I thought the whole point of a conglomerate of labels was it let you pursue niche markets. Instead both GM and Ford have taken each one of their labels and tried to stretch it as far as they can. Not every brand has to have a SUV nor a coupe nor a hatch. Saab is all about hatches
