Also on the adult ballet boat - took a class with no prior experience and loved it. I have no patience for yoga and ballet offered all the slow muscle focus without the bullshit (not that all yoga studios are bs, but they are in my neighborhood). Also pottery on the wheel is extremely therapeutic.

Edith Wharton’s great for having people not end up happy, although sometimes because life isn’t fair vs. their bad choices. Summer is one of my favorite’s of hers...it’s short, but packs a lot of story into each page.

I agree with the exercise comments because that’s huge for me. But I also enjoy podcasts - fiction, story telling ones. It’s nice to go to the park with big headphones and my dog and just chill listening to them.

I’d like to check out the Ravensbruck book. I read A Train in Winter by Caroline Moorehead, which is a powerful, true account of French Resistence women who survived the Holocaust.

My Favorite Murder has captivated my souuuullll. I wish there were a zillion more episodes to listen to.

Ooooo, which podcast?? I joined the podcast cult only recently; I worked my way through My Favorite Murder in a fairly short period of time by just pretty much listening to it every minute I wasn’t at work, and now I’m listening to randomized Last Podcast on the Left episodes on my commutes and while getting ready in

Drink, read, masturbate, long walks on my lunch hour.

Walking. Making a mess w inks. I am dead serious - just grab a book of thick paper and some inks and go mad, it doesn’t have to be anything but it’s such a relief for me when I do it. I read a lot - books fanfiction whatever - escape from reality. Put yourself away for a bit and focus on something that it doesn’t

Long walks with an audiobook (Librivox is free and I recommend Karen Savage and Elizabeth Klett) were my salvation when I was stressed out from work and grad school. Now that I have less time, I’ve been leaving early in the morning to get to work, getting off the train at least 10 blocks early and walking to work.

I found a baby once. He was toddling down the sidewalk wearing nothing but a diaper. I was maybe 22 years old and was like WTF. I was lucky enough to see a police car, so I flagged them down. They didn’t seem surprised at all. They were just like, thank you for the baby. We’ll take it from here. We know him.

Tell me something GOOD! Tell me that you LIKE IT!

Good for you! I’m working up the nerve for an epic showdown with my lunatic father after something really shitty he did this week. I’m torn whether to rip off the scab, or smooth it over due to Mother’s Day coming up so soon.

I do yoga. And bake. And then not eat what I baked. And then I take super long walks.

Earlier this week my two year old got away from me outside, ditched his noise making accessories and ignored me as I ran dementedly around the property yelling his name for fifteen minutes. I was about ten more minutes away from calling the cops to request a search party. Now he’s on outside time lock down until he

I’m about to lose my damn mind on my fucking asshole of a neighbor. She lives above me in a condo building and I’ve gone up to her apartment three times this week in the wee hours of the morning to knock and get her to shut the fuck up because she’s making so much damn noise.

My ex’s mom was amazing, but alas, I couldn’t keep her after I dumped her kid, right? So now I have one that makes me believe I did something horrible in a previous life, and now I’m paying for it.

I tell you what. I spent HOURS explaining these problems with charter schools to a charter school teacher who insisted that charter schools were “better” even though all the evidence and research demonstrates how not only are they not “better,” but they create and capitalise on a lot of social problems, and also don’t

first day of my first vacation since I started my job six months ago. I exercised, did laundry, got mani/pedi/wax, cleaned my apartment, ate a large sandwich, and am now drinking rose. going to vegas tomorrow. yayyyyyy

Damn.

More blanket progress made! I’m on my third skein so at least half way done. It doesn’t look like I’ll be able to insert the picture, so maybe this link will work?
