Is it typical for companies to call references of people they are NOT going to hire in the end just to meet a protocol? (Asking b/c my references were called after a recent interview and have yet to hear back. I know too that my references had nothing but glowing things to say.)

Agree. I think the first 3 episodes are pretty bad but then it got good. I could do without Denise or his parents though. Neither bring anything to the show.
