BRZ, I've driven my friends E93 M3, but it kind of felt floaty and heavy. The BRZ is nimble and quick. I love it.

I'd call it an alternative to a Cayman. It won't beat a Porsche, but it's a very good handling car, better than most in it's price range.

Serious? The steering is one of the best parts about the car for me IMO. I've compared it with an E36 M3 and a TT-S and I prefer the BRZ.

It's not like they're forcing you to keep the driving aids on. And how does it have too much driving aids? It's just regular, sport mode, and off essentially.

I don't get people calling it "soulless". It's everything the Japanese are known for crammed into a car. Top of the line technology, computers everywhere. I find it amazing that a car weighing borderline 2 tons can go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and beats all it's other competitors that are 2x the price.
