"I can see that happening after "Something Nice Back Home," but before that, Jack has Hurley pretty much crazy-boxed."

As with many things, the sideways is open to interpretation, and I'm just suggesting that Desmond's unique ability combined with Widmore's actions in the generator room could be where the creation of that universe took place.
We had a good discussion on the music not too long ago, and I thought about it some more after I saw your playlists, and came up with another idea. If you like it and want to post it on Reddit, go ahead. ;-)
In this episode, as well as the previous one, it's quickly established for Desmond and Hurley that they're both too busy with their lives to be meeting women. But when Charlie awakens Desmond as to what's out there, that leads to the chain reaction of Desmond meeting Penny, leading him to find Hurley, which helps him…
Before I watched this last week, I was thinking about the flash sideways in general, and the theories about how it was created. That, combined with the fact that this episode was Desmond-centric, led me to this…
Yeah, I still like the scenario as well, but I doubt that I'll write anything further than the vague outline I have.
Is it really unreasonable for Jacob to think he's finally found the right people? Yes, they can still be vulnerable to cons, but there's a reason why we're watching these specific people (besides the obvious). Jacob has spent so long on the Island, trying to fix that gigantic mistake he made, and I'm willing to bet…
"On the rewatch Sun's garden carries even more weight. Jack hands Sun the ripe tomato, after Sun announced earlier that they were dead. On the first watch it seemed full of meaning, but on the rewatch it gave me shivers, especially because Jack is so close to becoming protector of the Island. It's almost as if he's…
OK, so last time we had this discussion, my view was that Jacob was so angry with Richard because he had been swayed so easily by the MiB. But I've been thinking about this since I started Season 6, and I think there may be another option.
Yes, it's time for the final pick. I didn't think it would take this long, but that's on me because you've been very quick with your picks. I did consider taking Danielle with my previous pick, but I suspected you wanted her too and I'm fine with Michael. Just a fun little game anyway, so no harm, no foul. ;-)
Musical fanfiction…that sounds pretty cool. If you come up with a good mix, I'd love to hear it.
Re: The Last Episodes soundtrack: of the seven Lost CD's that I have, I may listen to that one the most. Technically, it's probably the least "easy listening" of all of them, but I like to think that while there's a lot of sadness in these notes, there's also a lot of hope in them. Maybe that's because of Hurley…
I saw your post on Reddit about "easy listening" tracks; your list is great, and I'd like to nominate a few choices of my own.
Daniel's a great pick for this late in the game, and I agree that he definitely seemed more into Charlotte than she was into him.
So I've gone into this briefly with @avclub-f8063f1b0b35246aaecc6911f3981d81:disqus, and I did mention it in the original post above, but Kate (and Sun in the upcoming episode) not taking Locke's hand, ties in very much with Jacob's touch. (I'm not dismissing your thought on the banyan trees being a safe zone, but…
What can I say about this episode that hasn't already been said? It's weird, knowing every beat, but the more I see it, the more I love it.
To me, the keyword in your Ab Aeterno reference is that Hurley is following Richard. While in this case there's a good reason for him to do so, what MiB is seeing is that Hurley is a follower in general. That's probably why he doesn't bother trying to go after him again after Season 2.
"Smokey to Richard: 'Come with me… and I promise I will tell you everything.'
Yeah, it's interesting to think of what might have been if Tom worked as a lieutenant to Hurley instead of Ben. Another good idea for a story, maybe?
For some reason, I had a feeling Shannon was going to be your next pick. Maybe that's from reading your story where she factors in more, and what you've written about her in these reviews. Either way, I do think there was potential for her on the show to grow and change further. I don't know if Sayid would have…
