Expose: While the flashbacks weren't as powerful in Season 3 since we already knew most of the castaways, that wasn't the case with Nikki and Paulo. The complaint was that they had come out nowhere to be featured this season, but the reality is that they've only had a handful of scenes to this point.

The Man from Tallahassee: It's been a long wait for the audience to find out how Locke was paralyzed, but the wait was well worth it. I don't remember what I was thinking the reason would be in 2007, but Anthony Cooper being involved didn't cross my mind.

I'm in the middle of watching Season 3 again, and what you mentioned is definitely a highlight. But Hurley, from the beginning, was the castaway who best exemplified the goodness of humanity.

Yeah this was just a real pleasure to watch. Everybody was in fine form, visually it looked great (I've always liked the HD look but this one did stand out) and it concluded in solid fashion. Matt Selman usually writes a strong one; I'd like to see what he can do full time but maybe we're better off getting a couple

"(Hurley's) not off the merry-go-round yet, as we see later on, but for now, by the end of this episode, you know that something really bright is on the horizon."

I wish I could explain this as eloquently as you did, because you make such a good case for Jack and Hurley being the key to protecting the Island.

Hopefully they can still find a place for Strahovski if Legacy is a success. I'm sure FOX would love to have this be a franchise for another decade.

Yeah, it was tough to watch that death, but it also propelled the show forward in new ways. Was it over the top to see Logan go from a nervous wreck to a mastermind of a terrorist attack? Sure, but I thought Season 5 followed up Season 4 in much the same way that the writer mentions. Short arcs in the middle of one

If nothing else, Michaela will be missed for her amazing sound bites. Not to defend Jay's move, but Michaela immediately turning to him to confirm that he voted for her probably made him feel even more confident that he made the right move. She was thinking about (seemingly) a hundred moves ahead of everyone and Jay

Par Avion: Like Sayid, Claire has not been seen as much since Season 1, but as Myles wrote in the Classic review, her absence is tied to baby Aaron. While we occasionally see Sun or Charlie babysitting, Claire is going to be taking care of Aaron for the majority of the time, so she can't be going into the jungle or

Enter 77: Sayid has taken a back seat among the castaways since Season 1, and so far in Season 3, he has been shown very little since hour #2. But with Kate determined to get Jack back, and she and Sayid generally being on the same page, he's a very useful ally to have. And he wastes no time in leading Kate, Locke,

Duff Gardens. Hurrah!

Tricia Tanaka is Dead: Hurley finds a car. Not exactly the description that would make you think the show is on strong footing, but Hurley not only gets the engine started on that car, it gets the season started as well.

Stranger in a Strange Land: In the Classic review, I wrote about relating to Jack through this episode, because like him, I was getting away from an unpleasant part of my life. While time has not been kind to this episode in the eyes of many, listening to Michael Giacchino's music, especially in Jack's first

Perkins' reviews may have had heart, but Football in the Groin had a football in the groin.

No worries, your opinions are perfectly valid. :-)

I think you accidentally cut and pasted a little too much, lol. At first glance, it looked like a really long reply.

If only the sugar were as sweet as you…

I was hoping David would use his Idol, if he really wanted to improve his position in the game. It's definitely possible that he will regret the decision in short order, but he said it himself…if he, Ken and CeCe let Jessica get voted out, they're right back on the bottom.

Flashes Before Your Eyes: A plan was in place to end the series after six seasons, so the writers were free to take chances like this one, with the focus staying on Desmond through almost the entire hour.
