Encouraging people to work is a good idea so requiring them to seek work helps them, our country and it slowly reduces the debt. Requiring someone to apply for 2 or 3 jobs a week is fair unless they are mentally or physically impaired.

No! If you volunteer for 20 hours at, say, a homeless shelter, that counts towards your work requirement. You don’t get any compensation for that volunteer work. Therefore, it doesn’t get you kicked on Medicaid.

If you work at a job that doesn’t pay to get your 20 hours work requirement in, you’re not earning income to get kicked off Medicaid.

So these basically make people who are currently receiving Medicaid but not working get a job.
