Yeah, I agree with him on politics and organized religion too, which makes the preachiness more tolerable, but I still find it somewhat unpalatable.
Thanks. Yeah, while I definitely listen to the full albums far more often than to outake/Anthology type stuff, I am rather fascinated by the latter, so I'm looking forward to what's on this set.
In my case, I think refraining from having sex with them would be the way to boost their morale.
Oh, that's good to hear. I have mixed feelings about His Dark Materials (loved the first book but thought it declined in quality and became too preachy over the course of 2 and 3), but those aside, Pullman is a really excellent writer and I would love to revisit that world again.
Nice! I'm looking forward to picking up the new mix in some form soon. Does the package you bought have the extras (early/working versions of songs, etc.)? I'm curious as to how those are and how they compare with the stuff on the Anthology.
How else am I supposed to make sure people I meet don't have knives hidden in their sleeves?
Are you worried he'll never have that recipe again?

My grandfather spoiled The Sixth Sense for me. He'd seen it and liked it and in telling us about it he just blurted out the plot. I don't think it ever occurred to him that he'd ruined the twist for us.
Yeah, there are plenty of audio variations between the stereo and mono mixes. In Empire there were even visual changes made after the initial release and differences between the 35 mm and 70 mm versions. A few weeks ago, I fell into this particular wormhole, becoming obsessed for a day or two with the variations…
I remember always dealing with the thorny conundrum of whether to pause through commercials when taping something. If I didn't pause, I ended up with a movie/show jarringly interrupted by annoying jingles and people telling me that Biz is better than "hiz". On the other hand, if I did pause, I ran the serious risk…
