We're pretty sure it's turtles, though there are those on the fringe who keep pushing the Tortoise Hypothesis.

A few of my friends were mugged at 1:00 in the afternoon coming back from lunch. And that was right by science hill, not even downtown.

I hope he visits Bovine University.

Oh, Spike. I remember when it started, I was saying something about what a stupid idea it was, and one of my friends was like, "Well there's a channel for women, why shouldn't there be a channel for men?" I said, "All the other channels are for men!"

Every time I see one of those slightly hysterical articles I sort of scratch my head and think, "Yeah, that actually seems like a pretty reasonable thing to have a course on."

So, Joseph Stalin? Carrot Top?

My parents forced me to go to one school dance in 8th grade. I sneaked in a book and read. In high school, the object of my (secret, almost certainly unrequited) affection asked me to go to prom; I said no.

The Educated Burgher is gone!? Man, that's awful.

Stuck in Canada, where they are under the curious impression that last weekend was the long weekend. What a country!

I'm usually more of a craft beer person, but a friend of mine has started to really get interested in wine recently, and I've been trying a bunch out with her (all whites - unfortunately, I can't drink red wine as it gives me a migraine). I used to be fairly "meh" about wine, thinking that apart from varying amounts

My project has now lost several weeks waiting for the financial people at the lab to finalize a purchase order for some stuff that we desperately need. Never mind that we'd been ordering this stuff for months already, and only a few weeks ago did it somehow mysteriously become a problem.

It was a pretty neat idea to have each of the three alternate two bars of solo on "The End". And the solos are quite good.

Although the solo in "Light My Fire" is probably not quite in my top ten, I just LOVE the moment when the guitar comes in as the organ solo is winding down.

Glad to see someone mention Jan Akkerman! Not just one of my favorite guitarists, but one of my favorite musicians and composers.

Although it's not really a solo, I'm awfully fond of the little riff on "It's So Easy".

Yes.

It's almost as though some of those popular classic songs are popular because they're good…

I think "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love" are both rather underrated. The biggest flaw in them is probably Jeff Lynne's heavy production, but overall they're right up there with some of the Beatles' best stuff for me. And I think George's solo is probably the highlight of "Free As a Bird".

No, you're wrong. It's a good song.

I love the way the solo on "We Will Rock You" starts off completely out of time with the rest of the song. It's a really neat effect.
