It’s not exactly what you’re looking for, but you could always try Tin Star by Allen Gies, it’s kind of like a Choose Your Own Adventure game, but not. There are actually a lot of pretty good games like it on the Choice of Games website, if that’s your thing.

I like both of their art styles, Dragon’s Dogma has some really cool monster designs.
