I never get tired of this:

This site is convinced that the only strategy someone can have is the one that is leaked to the New York Times or stated in a press conference.

Splinter doesn’t want a targeted and focused impeachment that people can easily understand. One which, even if it fails, could seriously hurt Trump’s reelection chances, and fulfills congress’s obligation to uphold the law.

It’s almost as if Pelosi, who was determined by her peers to be the best candidate for Speaker of the House, is better at her job than internet blog commentators/writers.

i also get frustrated with the strident tone of splinter, esp how they exclusively do negative coverage of ever primary candidate not named warren/bernie. i guess when we come here for the hot takes, we’ll get burned from time to time.

I’m half-convinced a lot of the people around here that have been complaining every day about Pelosi not impeaching are upset that she finally did because now they can’t complain every day about Pelosi not impeaching.

A couple years ago, even the most constructive and nuanced criticism of Hillary Clinton was denounced as the worst kind of sexism by her dead-end supporters and yet bros can attack Nancy Pelosi at the literal start of the game FOR DOING A STRATEGIC THING THAT MIGHT WORK and no one bats an eye.

Splinter before this week- “Nancy Pelosi needs to start impeachment proceedings, but she never will because she’s in Trump/Putin’s pocket.”

Radical take:

I tried so hard to like the first Surge. The Sci-fi setting appeals to me so I was just in. Then I got to the first boss on two separate playthroughs after multiple patches and had it glitch kill me in different ways and was just done.

Now playing

Are you kidding? The Ninja Theory game takes itself INCREDIBLY seriously, there’s no lampooning, parody, satire, or really any of the comedy here. Dante is this self-serious gritty punk who’s a “wiseass” (meaning he call his enemies “fuckheads” and “shit-for-brains”), the world and story is this serious tale about

Yeah, I think this one is a much more clear-cut case than Emuparadise. This site wasn’t “preserving” anything, and considering it was also offering pirated movies and ebooks, it was bound to be shut down eventually regardless of Nintendo’s involvement. If it wasn’t Nintendo, it would’ve been Disney or Warner Bros. or

Bold move to host ROMs like that to begin with. But this:

I hate when people bring this up. It’s not really just about authenticity to the source. Japanese people don’t have a unbiased perspective on this since they cast Asians in non Asian roles all the time. They are used to it. So when you ask what Japanese people think of the casting, it completely disregards the heart

Every time someone comes out with a take like this, I really want someone to ask them, would you be willing to look any of the accusers in the eye and say “I think you’re lying”? Because if the answer is no, which it likely often is, they’re just a moral coward.

Every game is a “better when portable” game.

As with all things sensitive like this, avoid the greys. People will use any event to spread their abuse and hate, even something like this. Ignore them.

It’s something like a shamisen or a bouzouki, but it definitely isn’t a guitar.
