My guess is that Yuji Horii is way less uptight than the Final Fantasy producers. He knows how to have FUN with his creation

I could totally see someone like Kitase being REALLY uptight about Cloud being in Smash and insisting the bare minimum representation be used because “Final Fantasy is very serious!”

I am still baffled as to why they were so stingy with Cloud. I think Square needs to remove the redwood from their collective ass when it comes to Final Fantasy

There is no way to underplay how much I detest Sugiyama

Speaking of the music, this keeps reminding me that Cloud only managed to add TWO fucking tracks to the game. What the HELL Square-Enix?

Idiots: “You can’t talk about Terry, a character I am ignorant of, for forty-five minutes!”

-Brazil-

I mean, being fanservice doesn’t necessarily detract from a story. The idea of hopping around the world, seeing how wizards in the Americas differ from those in Europe is rife with potential. The problem is Rowling and Fantastic Beasts have repeatedly squandered that potential with incredibly dumb retcons or just bad

Kojima: you are never, EVER going to make movies. And even if you do, they are not going to be well-received. Having a few Hollywood in your games doesn’t mean you know how to direct a film

Even in Japanese society his comment would be considered fucking stupid

Not surprising at all.

“We announced this too, now stop with the protests! We don’t want to remove Mei from the game!”

It’s an apology by accountants. All it did was piss people off even more

Good, this should be so ubiquitous at Blizzcon that any footage or photography outside of panels/announcements is fucking unusable for them.

No, it really wasn’t. It’s not addressing the heart of the matter, it’s giving a weak statement. It’s not an actual apology. They never said Blitzchung’s name nor did they say they were reversing the decision. If they think it’s going to stop people from speaking out, then they’re fucking morons because all it’s done

i.e. people who actually give a shit about free speech and calling out businesses for coddling a thin-skinned autocrat who’s afraid of his power slipping. Fuck off, dweeb

“But we’re still not gonna do anything because Kotick wants more money he’s never going to spend and never going to enjoy.”

It reeks of “We’ll say we’re sorry, but we won’t actually do anything to change and address the core issue.”

“We’re afraid it’s going to affect our profits for the year.”

“We moved too quickly.”
