Ugh, even without the “not the right time” tonedeafness of Confederate, it really shows how little D&D actually know about the Civil War. No guys, there was NO TIME where the South was somehow even with the North. There was no time where the South could have won and lionizing the South to this day is fucking stupid.

Yeah, there’s a difference between “reinforcing a theme” and “resorting to deus ex machina in order to artificially pad tension”

“I’mma just retire up North.”

And somehow guys who have never shot at a dragon before managed to draw a bead on one despite no clear line of sight? Just...ugh, that’s REALLY reaching, guys

Bronn, the smartest person in the show by saying “Fuck you guys, I’ll see ya when the war’s over. PEACE!”

I can definitely see Cersei being arrogant enough to think “These will be a perfect substitute for a ten ton flying beast that can reduce a castle to molten slag.”

Again, what are they supposed to practice with?

yes, yes, you hate the brown Mongolian-alikes, and clearly took a disturbing amount of pleasure in their demise. Now sit in the corner, you creepy fucking weirdo.

Yeah, Aegon the Conqueror didn’t have much of an army either. I doubt having just TWO dragons will make things massively more difficult for Dany.

Yeah, if we count by proxy.

Then he doesn’t get to whine. It’s. His. Fucking. JOB. And furthermore, he is privileged as FUCK because you know if a writer younger than him tried this they would be dropped down a fucking black hole.

Yeah, Martin definitely enjoys massive amounts of privilege. Yeah, I agree with Neil Gaiman that Martin is “not my bitch” and he’s not obligated to cater exclusively to me, but I am also not HIS bitch and thus am not obligated to kowtow towards him and just accept whatever he does.

And I’m not sure whether to blame D&D for not finding a way to tie these up or Martin for creating all these loose ends in the first place

Because D&D are some of the most privileged men in television. Christ, those two have been making way too many gaffes

But he hates his readers most of all, especially when they tell him to get some writing done

Yeah, they often want to have their cake and eat it. They want to have the spectacle of an irredeemable murderer but then try to bring “nuance” and it comes off as hollow. The only time I have EVER seen this work is with Dracula in the recent Castlevania series and that’s because they start with the tragedy and THEN

....Westeros. Is. Not. EUROPE. It is an invented setting

Mr. Freeze is not even the same character as when his reinvention was done. I’m talking about the actual same character in a story

That idea made no sense. I remember Benioff claiming there was a situation in which the South could have won, but that is a GIGANTIC assumption. D&D are so fucking tonedeaf

Oof
