Microsoft Zune (both the player and the companion Windows app). Seriously, the UI was wonderful, they just sucked at marketing (and in some sense, usefulness of the app).

The Zune HD was honestly a really great device. It just came out two years too late.

For the cost of two of those you can also buy... A pair of headphones. They seem to sell well too.

Personally I think the Xbox controllers have always been the best. I think they’re a lot more ergonomic and comfortable than anything Sony’s made.

Mine’s been working since...well, Day One oddly enough. As has the second I bought.
