We buy pretty much everything from a retailer, even larger purchases like appliances, HVAC equipment, raw materials like lumber, drywall, screws. You name it and you have probably bought it from a retailer. Even house purchases have middlemen, aka realtors and/or brokerages. 

So then you agree that literally every retail outlet is an antiquated model? I don’t buy my eggs from the farmer all the time or the milk from the dairy or pretty much anything from the manufacturer.
