So if I’m remember correctly Lane is the one who claims that he asked Chauvin if they should put Floyd on his side (arrested suspects aren’t supposed to be kept prone, but rather on their side in the recovery position, or sitting or standing upright), but didn’t have the courage to press the issue further against a

The slip rental is a key idea here. Buying another fit and renting a slip would probably be lower cost than a $60k truck that gets crappy gas mileage. This is, of course, assuming he actually wants to keep the boat (I’d sell that money pit immediately but to each their own).

Paging functionoverfashion..we need good opinions

This response was poetry:

Biden’s hedging a lot on the fact that he knows loyal blue voters and a hard majority of black voters will still vote for him; he is once again reaching for the undecided moderates.

I live it.

That would involve buying a chrysler product though...

You’re welcome to do your own research on FCA’s reliability. The only thing that’s usually accomplished by posting data that contradicts someone’s bias is for that person to lean into the bias and question the data.

That might be because some of us think that the idea of jeeps are cooler than the actual jeeps which are often POS.

He never said they weren’t. Just said it filled his niche

But it’s a Jeep. Is there a good car out there that meets that criteria?

and anyone who thinks this is worth putting on their vehicle, to me, has signalled something about themselves to the world.

Your two cents was more like a buck fitty....

It still seems like a lot even at higher incomes. I’ve got higher than usual rent because fucking major coastal cities, but make over $200k/yr. I own my current car outright, and I can’t see a scenario when I’d willingly take on an additional $500/mo payment just for . . . some goddamn touch screens? A car that beeps

I mean fuck Cox but also:

Not to mention it’s barely making contact with the wall half the time, so it’s not only harder on the body in some ways, it’s also less efficient in needing more swings to do the same thing your arm does.

I also think that any company that made self-driving cars that only reduced the fatality rate fro 40k down to 20k would go bankrupt from the lawsuits, end up with their CEO on CSpan 24/7 and have their entire engineering staff in prison.

Oh I’m sure they recognize they can’t stop self driving cars, but they can manipulate the data in their favor to do quite a few things. like slow consumer adoption, dampen legislative support, and support flawed models that enable them to keep insurance mandatory and rates high. Pretty much like what the IIHS has done

I’m not necessarily indicting the data, because I do think self driving cars will still be safer enough to be worth pushing (if done properly). But let’s be clear about one thing here. The IIHS is not an independent source. They owe their funding and allegiance to insurance companies. They’re basically an insurance ind
