I will be very glad when the new floor is down and my car is fixed. The house is colder and noisier with all the furniture and bookshelves packed away.

You might be better buying it when you get there to be honest as clothes retailers are relatively cheap in Europe and means more luggage room. Mid-March around the English Channel is usually wet but slightly chilly to mild so a thin raincoat and/or a jumper is usually enough.
