Rear-facing jumpseats have been around as long as the wagon. They were popular from the 1950s through the 1970s, so unless the concerned citizen was young enough to ride in the Tesla’s jumpseats, they’re just ignorant of history.

My wife loved her 1998 Discovery, and though it was the definition of British reliability, it was easy to work on and parts were cheap. You can hit speedbumps at highway speeds in the original Disco, and nothing (other that it’s own dismal reliability) could stop it.
