Terry Pratchett taught me to love footnotes. A Terry Pratchett footnote could pack more wit and humor into a few lines of text than many shows pack into a season-long arc.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking, too. Going too far in either direction is the problem, as they cause inaccurate self-perceptions.

A zombie dragon is definitely a tougher nut to crack than a human zombie, but it's not significantly more difficult than dealing with a living dragon of the same CR, and in fact, is easier in some respects (undead weaknesses, lack of intelligence, etc.).

Ye gods. That is the perfect last tweet. What's that? No, I'm not crying. Someone's just cutting onions in my office...or something.

I regard Elysium as an interesting failure. It wasn't a bad movie, by any stretch, but it also was missing some of what attracted me to his work in District 9. However, it was interesting and thought-provoking in ways that most major motion pictures aren't. I'm also impressed by Blomkamp's self-awareness. The absence

The other awesome thing about going for a place that will let you help with the design process is that you can create something that can be passed down to future generations.

Agreed. I went through a local shop that let me help with the design process as well. Granted, it helped that my now-wife is a good artist, and had given me some sketches of things that she liked, but we ended up with a beautiful ring that will always be unique to us.

Carnivorous plants: The worst.

I would also recommend James Loewen's Lies My Teacher Told Me. Not only does it offer a fairly scathing rebuttal to the whitewashed stories we are told from an early age, it also offers a fairly damning critique of the history textbook industry, and the disproportionate power that certain school districts wield within

My wife and I are collecting the Skottie Young covers and framing them. It will be the ultimate piece for our mantel!

EDIT: NOOOOO! DOUBLE POST! KINJA, YOU HAVE FAILED ME FOR WHAT IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT THE LAST TIME!

I think Trask Industries would be a better fit, because Deadpool would have no particular love or animosity towards them as an organization, whereas he would definitely have some hatred for Weapon X, making a partnership with one of their flunkies an unlikely proposition at best.

LINDSAY reads Domino to me. Heck yeah.

Couldn't be AIM or HYDRA, since both of those groups are owned by Marvel Studios, not Fox. Granted, the character's sole defining feature is being a low-level flunky for a massive, villainous organization, and it's not like the X-Verse lacks for those, so he could just work for some other nefarious group.

As a technical writer, I deal with this frequently. Fortunately, there is an easy solution: in most cases, I simply write things in the second-person.

You jest, but think about it: if you are the sort of person who thinks existing dinosaur species aren't extreme enough, isn't Rob Liefeld the sort of person you would hire to design a new, edgy species?

Yeah, I don't read too much into toy designs when it comes to film-quality. It's not like the toys that were released with the original films were that close to what ended up on screen, either, for what it's worth.

Screamer staff: UGH, this North London Derby is too much for us. I know, let's write something about the family of a player watching a completely different game. *phew.*

Thanks for sharing your memories of your father!
