There really have to be two sides to a story for there to be a controversy. I did not see anyone who is pro-moose punching. What's the story? Some dude punched a guy in a suit. End of story.

Gotta' wonder how well a true metahuman hero fits with Arrow's decidedly more grounded approach to the DC Universe. I will watch with interest.
Yeah, a new Dresden show would be fantastic, especially if they could tie it more closely to the universe established in the books. Hell, they could set it all within the books universe and just cover side jobs as one-shots not dependent on continuity, but still within it.
Funnily enough, I always imagine Supernatural as a spin-off of the Dresden Files. It was manageable in the first couple seasons, but became increasingly difficult to maintain that fiction as the series progressed.
Norman Spinrad's The Weed of Time was pretty weird, and in a good way!
Whoa...Where did you learn to cast "Summon Greater Wife?" I haven't found that spell yet!
I completely agree with you, Snowcrash. The point I am making is that my wife is the prototypical example of a woman who is also a geek who is often forced to go through extra verification just to make sure that she isn't some sort of fake, and she shouldn't have to. Frankly, no one should have to. The obsession with…
The interesting thing is that terms like "gamer" should be gender neutral, but when used to describe women, it becomes "gamer girl", as if that clarification is necessary. I don't describe myself as a "gamer guy" or somesuch, because that's absolutely ridiculous. By that same token, I don't describe my wife the game…
It makes sense. If I were Marvel/Disney, I would be leery of having famed domestic abuser Hank Pym appearing as the hero of a PG-13 summer spectacle. Too much of that could potentially tarnish the entirety of the Avengers line, which is a giant cash cow for them. And frankly, if it means we get more of the…
If we are talking present-day Dempsey vs. present-day Donovan, then yes, but if you are talking about over the course of their respective careers, I would probably go with Donovan, though I think Deuce still has a bit more left in the tank than Donovan.
Oh man. That show was absolutely the best thing in the world. It's amazing how much cultural literacy I picked up from Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego back in the day. Plus, the games from back in the day were pretty rad, too. "Where in Time" basically turned you into the Doctor and had you running throughout…
Gotta' love it when writers give other writers awesome career advice!
No love for Vancouver's Daigo Kobayashi's insane midfield volley against Columbus back in week two? I'd say that one edges this out.
Well, if he keeps making shots like that, he might be in for a position change.
Y'know, it's kind of fitting to have a mystery swirling around a mystery novel, except the answer to this whodunit is "AWESOME!" In all seriousness, though, I think it's great that Rowling is pushing herself to explore different genres and protagonists. Good for her!
Many in technical degrees know what it's like to be the outsider from the popular kids in school, and to be perceived as the smartest guy in the room. Ender's Game deals a lot with those experiences, and turns said outsider into a world-class beater of ass. It's not surprising that it is a favorite. It was my favorite…
I don't expect the viewing public to understand the difference. I expect them to ask "Why is Uncle Sam wearing green and blue?" and then go to the internet and find out that these colors are part of the Pacific Northwest's soccer culture. The tifo is really more meant for the people in the stadium (who all know about…
You will note that the Uncle Sam is not in Portland Timbers colors, but Cascadia colors. The Cascadia clubs have a specific soccer heritage that goes back decades, and is a large part of why soccer has seen a resurgence in recent years in the US. It's a way to acknowledge that community as part of the larger US Soccer…
I should have known better than to trust their showboating Globetrotter mathematics!
KANG!
