Spacey’s very good (at acting), but Christopher Plummer is a damned living legend. I’d love to see these performances side-by-side, just to watch Plummer dunk on Spacey over & over.

It’s a great call for the other cast and crew members, too. How much would it suck to have your hard work shelved, never to be released (or released in a low-key, straight-to-DVD fashion), all because your bigshot costar suddenly became an industry pariah because of their own disgusting, unacceptable behaviour?
Christopher Plummer is a seasoned veteran, an actor’s actor, so he’s a great choice to get re-shoots done quickly.
He will have died in his sleep. And the show will say it’s months later.
As a side note to film history, Scott wanted Plummer all along, but the studios wanted a “name.”
Still has Mark Wahlberg in that movie...
This is unprecedented but incredible. They’re going to be teaching this whole thing in film school classes. Hell, there’s going to be a film school class entirely about the sexual harassment stuff. And one of the assignments will be writing about the Getty movie incident. This is film history happening as we speak.…
Maze, duh.
Because she can’t always be off bounty hunting.
OR ... they are off bounty hunting together in the spin off we all want.
This episode was a treasure trove of great lines. Amongst those not quoted above:
- “Hitler was a talker. Well, more of a screamer really....”
- “Since I’m not going to be penetrating you, I thought I’d commemorate the one time you penetrated me”
If he/she were really really a true hero, then she/he would have taken Kinja out at the same time.
If he/she were a true hero, then she/he would have crashed Twitter forever and gone out like Slim Pickens on the HBomb
I would pledge a portion of my monthly income to this person for the rest of my working life. A small portion, ‘cause I’m cheap, and I hope the rest of the country would help me support this heroic person.
Trump can suck a butt. This unnamed ex-Twitter employee is a hero. He’s America’s version of that anonymous guy who stood in front of the tanks in Tiananmen Square.
Yeah, it didn’t work for me, either. As you say, it came across really forced and unnatural. I remember actually thinking “oh god, some people’ll think this is brilliant”.
I could not respect and cherish her more. She is everything he is not—honest, kind, talented, unwilling to compromise her values, and capable of loving herself and asserting her needs without resorting to shitting and preying on other people.
One of the most effective, nuanced, candid, insightful, and well composed of these horrible stories. Good on her for pulling back the curtain just a bit more.
She reminds me a lot of Matthew Rhys with her ability to act with every part of her body, from facial expressions to body language.
Aya Cash is fantastic and I’m already setting myself up for disappointment in hoping she at least gets an Emmy nod for her work on this show.
Beautiful episode. Gretchen is my favorite, and it’s episodes like this that make me uncomfortable for familiarity. Aya Cash is low-key one of the best actors on TV right now.
I still can’t understand why anyone at NBC thought this was a good idea. She’s very popular with a specific segment of the population (old white Republicans) doing a certain thing (looking smug while pushing conservative spin).
This job is completely different and the audience you are going for is completely…
