Well, it is. Both Paddington movies were all quality (too bad box office in the states was just ok), charming, positive, and just plain fun. They could have easily been cheap cash grabs but it’s obvious how much work went in to make them great films on their own right. I especially love how the villains for either -

At the Regal I worked at, many people realized the loopholes very quickly. Movie you want isn’t available or you want to go later? Get it now. Wait. Exchange it. So we started writing “MP” on MoviePass tickets to cut down on it. If they used the kiosk we couldn’t check outside of asking to see the credit card but it

I seriously do not understand how people cannot just put it off and away for 2 hours. It’s so damned easy, and they are told to a zillion times. It’s a special kind of “fuck everyone” to shrug and do it anyway.

I’m also the “go tell them to turn the damned thing off” sort of guy if I can (when it’s super crowded I just gotta seethe). most people scoff and then turn it off but occasinally you get the real assholes - like the guy next to me at ENDGAME and kept telling me “don’t watch me, watch the movie” over and over again.

They visited the set of Tourist Trap, but luckily Chuck Conners was off getting his skin-peeling knives sharpened out of town.

He played antagonist in Sam Raimi’s The Gift. Been too long, but I recall he was solid.

I turned to my wife after the movie asking this same question. She said “you remember more of that movie than I did and you posted on facebook today you keep forgetting it exists.” I doubt Fox gives two craps about continuity - bearing that year Caliban showed up in Apocalpyse AND Logan and no one there noticed until

RE: John Cusack. Rose City about 3 or 4 years go (so some of my details may be off, as that’s what memory does). Q/A is going fine, mostly. John obviously doesn’t want to really be there but Joan is lovely. Guy comes up in a nice 3 piece suit and in a very purposefly eloquent Old Hollywood accent - sounding fake but

“ 4) asking some inane question that has been answered a bunch of times”  This. Goddamn this one annoys me more than anything else. Peter Mayhew (RIP) at Emerald City a few years ago... half the people asked him to do the roar. in the QA he said he didn’t do it in the movie and the moderator literally started the QA

I fully believe Hawkeye actually has a superpower in the MCU: luck. No one can be that good with a bow and arrow and survive everything he’s done as you noted. Obviously not in the same was Domino, but things just always work out for him.

I recently read through the Baum OZ books (and his other works of the era). It’s easy to tell from the “Letter to the reader” page if the book will be crap or not. Seems to mostly be “I need money and you won’t stop badgering me so here ya go.” but some have a “I had a good idea, so got excited for this one and

Glad to see others thinking the same. My audience was cracking up. I thought I was missing something. For my own votes: I want Weekend to win. I expect Bao - a worthy choice but not mine.

I saw this at SIFF last year and was greatly disappoited. The idea was there, but the stories themselves were undercooked.

This case is a weird limbo for me. I 90% think Syed committed the murder. But the case presented in court was so lacking and based so much on an unreliable testimony and circumstance it was laughable. In my opinion, the prosecution didn’t do a good enough job for conviction. They got it anyway, but still.

this is very true. I hated sipping from my drink due to breaking the quiet. Every theater sound was amplified. It was kinda annoying at the start but halfway through the 3rd act, it was noticeable in there was no movement at all in the auditorium. Dead silent.

I saw this last year at SIFF. It was funny enough to start but lost steam as it went on eventually becoming a repetitive drag. This is one of those times where the two leads are both very unlikable. If you do this right it can be fun watching unlikeable people digging themselves deeper into their mess; but in this

None. It’s absolutely empty. There is NOTHING to the characters. Made me not care a thing for them or the on screen happenings. I love creature features, love kaiju. Really dug the ‘14 Godzilla and ‘05 Kong despite their large flaws. I hated this movie.

We’ve been making fun of the FirstLook promo for this as we clean theaters. Particually the part in the ad where one of them says “We’re doing something fresh. We’re following Dorothy’s point of view.” Following the main character? Never! Or did I miss something in every version but the Raimi one and Wicked?

I assumed it was him. I had a little “Biggs!” squeal at seeing him. Heard a few more in the auditorium too.

I’m surprised we didn’t see Wedge at all.
