Because booze is kind of the background noise of our civilization. You can't make a booze comedy any more than you can make an oxygen comedy. Actually, I'd love to see an oxygen comedy now I think of it.

The Expanse books move a lot more quickly than the GOT books…

I like how the show sets up little mysteries in the pilot, in addition to the big mystery. For instance, "why does the detective wear that damned hat?" is answered, toward the end of the episode, "because his haircut is just frickin' embarrassing."

So it turns out the blues aren't actually necessary, and not using them gives permanent powers? You'd think the government scientists would have noticed that.

When faced with trauma, a lot of TV characters turn on a dime and go from total assholes to saints (or at least terrified cattle). In my experience, real people don't do that. I like the fact that despite Robyn's terrifying ordeal, she's still the same awful person as always.

There's some air space between "domineering" and "abusive", in my opinion, and I haven't seen any evidence that Hogarth has crossed that gap.

Sure, he's drugged out of his mind, but I can't think of any reason — even a deranged drug-addled reason — for him to kill Lester Freamon.

MCU civilians do not love superhumans, except in celebrity cases. The man who hurt the support group was a freak, so is Jessica, in Marvelthink they're the same.

…while completely skipping over Plan A, which is "shoot the motherfucker."

You're right that her plans are misguided, but she's also doing a terrible job of executing them.

Deaths of innocents? Simpson's plan wouldn't have killed any innocents. It might have left one in prison, but only if the victims' group's testimony didn't exonerate Hope. Jessica's plan has killed at least six innocent people so far.

Yeah, especially since Pam shows up for no good reason I can see, and is dressed more like Trish than usual.

Yeah, I think Netflix said, "Oh, so binge-watching is a thing now? Well, just try to binge-watch *this*!"

Nobody is listening to Jessica

Jessica Jones scriptwriters: "Y'know, it's really fun having a villain who can do Jedi mind tricks, but you know what we need? Midichlorians."

Jessica hasn't got any wits, if you ask me. Every plan she makes is always the stupidest, riskiest, most dramatic scene possible. "We have to let Kilgrave him live so he can incriminate himself!" "Let's knock out and capture Kilgrave in broad daylight on the street!" "I have to confess to murder and locked up in

Exactly right. At least six people have been killed by Kilgrave due to Jessica's idiotic obsession with protecting Hope, and Hope knows that won't end until Jessica stops the white knight baloney.

The Simpson Was Right Body Count!
(Even if Simpson's a drug-addled lunatic now, he was still right in episode 5.) People Kilgrave has killed since Simpson suggested taking him out with a sniper rifle:

Obsessive bullet counting: my rule of thumb is, any time a character is packing a revolver, it's because the number of bullets in the gun is going to be an important plot point. (As a general rule, in films and tv, semiautomatics have infinite bullets, revolvers always have six.)
